So the store officially replied that they dont have any but some random guy on the internet can "hook people up" with remote payment and delivery. And he uses an email address starting with tag3507 馃槖

Oh yeah, I'm sceptical too, will be sure to check it out properly. But it's not inconceivable stores may have stock. My regular branch didn't and neither did head office, but they surely didn't ring round every branch to check.

Doing a bit of research, looks like it's the TAG Heuer boutique in Westfield shopping centre (probably run by EJ, hence the email address having "tag" in it). Phone number from the guy's LinkedIn profile checks out to that store too, but looks like they might be closed till 4th Jan. This could be a complete waste of time, but worth me following up and checking out I think. 馃榾

Well, what can I say guys. I was very careful. It all checked out 100%. They had one left in stock. Nabbed it!

Definitely hadn't planned any more watch purchases in 2020!

Something will need to go to fund this, though. Expect to see a vintage Autavia or a Calibre 18 Telemeter on the sales forum in due course.

I still think the CBK221B will be a watch that in ten years time people will be searching for and if people really love it as much as they appear to then they won't be selling them, ergo that creates a shortage of available pieces. Or is that just optimism beyond realism?

Could certainly be - only time will tell really. With most standard TAGs, it's actually not very easy to find them on the secondary market because I think most buyers are unaware that there is such a thing. When they finish up with their Aquaracers, they stick them in a drawer or something, I dunno.

We are starting to see more of the older reissue Carreras come up though from dealers and vintage-watch-type sources. And of course the new Autavias are everywhere, since everyone in the watch community rushed to buy one when they came out.

I certainly hope the watch gets the recognition it deserves, and as far as I can tell it is, but I wasn't waiting around to see how they perform on the secondary 馃榾

They will, a couple are in the pipeline for '21

Argh man I never get the free swag. I'd have done the speakers probably though

They were good speakers apparently, but I don't think I'd have any use for them. Not that I'm going out needing a backback at the moment either!
