And then we have to factor in the Hubert factor. Was his 'something amazing' a general hope... or does he know. If he knows then presumably it's not a modern watch, since I don't think Hubert would describe a modern watch as 'amazing', unless it is in fact Haure Horlogerie!

It's interesting isn't it that when they started re-issuing pieces they automatically had the 'TAG Heuer' logo on them, I presume it was 'customer feedback' that led to them changing them to Heuer. At the end of the day they own both 'trademarks' and if the customer base wants the old logo then why not give it to them?
Of course this whole thing could have been avoided if those dongles hadn't changed the name back in 1985... ah, then we could have had the Heuer Microtimer, the Heuer Aquaracer and the Heuer Formula 1.

The very first Monaco & Carrera re-editions actually had the "Heuer" logo, then later changed to the "TAG Heuer" logo, prior to becoming a regular part of the TH line up. I don't have a preference for one logo over the other, I like both. 😀
But I do believe there's an appropriate use for the Heuer logo and the TAG Heuer logo. Your mock ups of a "Heuer" logo branded Aquaracer and F1 don't feel right to me either, just as I feel a Monaco Calibre 11 branded with TAG Heuer would not be proper.

Ah, you're right... so why did they do that then? The original Monza re-issue was TAG Heuer branded as well (I'm pretty sure)... and the Mid 2000 Autavias definitely were. Seems like their policy was all over the place.

Different ownership. LVMH chose to use the Tag Heuer logo from the start and only later issued Heuer pieces.

Hmm, well, the 2001 catalogue shows that LVMH launched the original Monza re-issue with Heuer branding... but then the 2003 catalogue shows that everything TH branded, but that was 4 years after the buyout.

Correct, I’ll only get one shot at spending the money this year so it needs to be the right shot, currently looking at a supercharger set up for the Honda too, herself reckons I’m past needing a faster car now.😡

Looking forward to learning more about it but right now it doesn't look like a thinner manual wound watch. It looks like the 39mm glass-box Carrera with the H02, similar to the Fragment. However the subdiaIs are significantly smaller which is a big plus and much more in tune with the original, the '90s re-issue and the 2002 edition.
I don't think the faux lume adds the right kind of pezazz to the silver dial but the '60s Carreras were minimalist. If it has the glass-box and dome distortion then that would be unfortunate. The chrono hour subdial is downright confusing. The hour markers are either in arabic (4, 8, 12), have short (2, 6, 10) or long (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11) markers. The chrono seconds subdial now has 15, 30, 45 and 60 seconds which makes the positioning of SWISS less balanced than in case of the Fragment.
But overall a very nice watch and I hope we'll get to see some nice dial variations in the coming, with and without the running seconds subdial.

I like this and am potentially in depending on price, but I am also interested to see what other dial variations they come up with. Agree that I would have preferred normal-looking lume, although I am not opposed to the faux aged colour like some (they have to make it a colour of some sort). Questions that still need answering - will it be the standard version of the Heuer 02 or a manual wind version. And is the crystal sapphire (if so glassbox?) or plexi. Would prefer the perforated rally strap, but that's easily fixed.

I'd love to see a panda version. But the Ford v Ferrari watch was a two register version, which I'd prefer as well.

A black dialed version might be a little too similar to the Carrera Fragment, and if this 160th is priced anything like the Fragement, I'm out.

Not Damon’s watch. 2 subdials but more importantly different subdial at 9 o clock. Also classic long and sharp lugs. I think it was a prop.
