Yes, it would break my heart to see your vast collection left behind when Gen 3 is released next year.
😁 Thank you! 😉 👍

I stopped at the official Tag store in Geneva yesterday, and even there everything related to the Connected watches had disappeared (except in the catalogue). They didn't even have the new Golf model in stock. The staff was explaining that they are getting low on stock and that they are getting ready for the next version in 2020. It indeed wasn't that easy for them to find the calibre 5 module that I picked up, thanks to the staff for getting it for me.

It is really disappointed, because I bought TH connected with the aim of changing the electronic module to mechanical later. But now we can stay only with obsolete module if Tag will make new accessories incompatible with the current TH connected model...

But you can buy now the mechanical module for your TH CM, and enjoy it now and in the future (also when the smartwatch module becomes obsolete).

Of course it would be great if the 3rd Connected generation planned for 2020 is also Modular and compatible with the current Modular accessories, and it would be great if we can buy just the new smartwatch module to upgrade our 2nd generation TH CM... but if not, you still can use your smartwatch module for many time (the first Connected generation is still working and receiving all the updates), and of course you can use your mechanical module with your different Modular straps and accessories “forever” #connectedtoeternity 😉

Yes, Albert, that’s exactly what I want) But as I understand resellers in my country stop selling/ stocking all THM accessories, including mechanical modules. I hope when I will be able to buy a mechanical module, the official boutique will sell mechanical modules for our TH generation )

I have ordered the bracelet BA0675 for my TH 6000 Senna in my AD (Barcelona), still available for a 25 years old watch... so I guess the straps for our TH CM will be also still available in the future (even if they are not compatible with 3rd gen. Connected) if you order them in the official AD/boutiques... but I’m not so sure about the availability of the current mechanical modules If they are not compatible with 3rd generation 👎

A mechanical module is in fact a watch, with serial number and its own warranty card, so if current mechanical modules are not compatible with next gen. Connected, I guess they would also be discontinued together with current smartwatch modules... so we hope the 3rd generation Connected will be compatible with our current Modular system! 🙄 If not, try to get a mechanical module for your TH CM as soon as possible! 😉

The Calibre 16 module is now super rare to get hold of. It is out of production too, from what I heard during discussions with the boutique guys.

Cheers .

Thanks for the info my friend. I bought mine over a year ago. This information will probably help other readers who haven't got one yet.

Cheers.

How do you guys bring yourselves to pay for the lugs..... WOW!😲

And this is why I don't own a modular calibre 5.

No need to buy extra lugs, you can use the ones you already have with the Calibre 5 module.

When I priced it up, I thought the mechanical modules were bare and needed strap and lugs. Might have been wrong

Yes, you don’t need to buy extra lugs to use any of the mechanical modules: you just switch the smartwatch module for the mechanical module, it’s a “plug-and-play” system... just some of us bought additional lugs (I bought the black ceramic lugs and the rose gold lugs to join my initial titanium lugs) to have more combos! 😁

But -first of all- you must own a complete TAG Heuer Connected Modular watch to use its lugs, strap, and buckle with the mechanical module. If you don’t previously own the TH CM watch and you buy just the mechanical module, then you need to buy the lugs (very expensive), strap, and buckle as accessories... so it’s better to buy (1) a complete TH Connected Modular watch + mechanical module instead of (2) the mechanical module + lugs + strap + buckle... the total amount is very similar in both cases, but with (1) you get the smartwatch module in addition!

That's the issue I had, no interest in owning the smartwatch module!

Can someone explain to me how the black ceramic bracelet costs £800 and the black ceramic lugs cost £1015?

I think it’s because TH fix the price of the lugs to adjust the total price of the mechanical Modular watch, if you want to buy it by individual parts.

The price for the mechanical module alone is like a special offer for TH Connected Modular owners, a message like: “don’t worry about spending so much money in a smartwatch that could be obsolete in few years, because you can also buy a mechanical module #connectedtoeternity and when your smartwatch module becomes obsolete, you will always be enjoying a Carrera mechanical watch... And the total price for the smartwatch + mechanical module is very similar to just a normal Carrera”

But if you don’t own a TH Connected Modular and you want to buy just the mechanical module, then you will need to buy the lugs, and then you will pay the mechanical module (at low price) + the lugs (at extra price) + straps and buckle (at normal price), so the total price is similar to the non modular Carrera, being the extra price for the lugs the way to balance that total price.

For the first TH Connected generation (not Modular) owners, the TH offer was a mechanical Carrera at a very special price in exchange of a two years old TH Connected watch... but for the 2nd generation (Modular) owners, the offer is the price for the mechanical modules.

Hmm, okay... thanks for the explanation. I still think the price is a bit of a joke.
