Connected E2 Modular 41 has been discontinued!

That seems to be a bit of an odd news story, because of the "Seems the customers prefer the 45mm" line. Based on my experience of talking to Tag Customer Service, 45mm parts are essentially discontinued as "old stock". They're still available for purchase, so presumably still being manufactured as demand sees fit but boutiques - even the Tag Heuer ones, are no longer stocking 45mm parts. So regular jewelry store type places have completely stopped carrying them, and many will not even order one in, actual tag heuer boutiques (like the one on 5th Ave. in NYC) CAN order them in ofc (and you can order from website) but they no longer keep 45mm parts actively stocked.

Personally, it SEEMS like the entire connected line has gone through a lull/"old stock" period for a few months now, where boutiques aren't stocking any parts and orders take weeks.

Well, that was just my turn of phrase so I wouldn't read anything into it. 41mm is definitely Disconnected, and has been selling furiously in the outlets this past week. I know little about the Connected, I'm just passing on what I've been told by my contact at TAG Heuer.

Sorry, communication gap 馃榾. When you say "disconnected", what do you mean? So 41mm has been very popular of late? The feeling i get seems to indicate that any boutiques that DO stock connected parts are preferring 41mm parts rather than 45mm, most preferring not to stock any at all. Akin to how you really can't find 46mm (OG Connected) parts anymore

Disconnected.... a play on words. Wished I'd used it for the title, maybe best I didn't.
Well if you put 'current' stock in an outlet at a 30% discount it will be popular... I suspect most of the people buying may not realise the reason they are getting the discount is because it's the end of the line. A lot of people who go into the outlet stores aren't necessarily aware that most of what they have is at least three years old and can be up to ten years old, they just see bargains.

From what I was told, the Connected 41mm has not sold nearly as well as expected given the size advantage over the 45mm. So they are sticking with the 45mm. I suspect the idea was that the 41mm would be massively more popular and they would change over to that, but it just hasn't worked out like that.

True. And I'd believe that the 45mm is more popular heck I love the 45mm over the 41mm. I just wish Tag had better distribution network for these things. TONNES of stores carry almost all the basic lines of Tag watches, EXCEPT the connected...connected is IMPOSSIBLE to find up here, and most stores are even saying that there's no point ordering it in either (ONE place used language that SEEMED to match with what you're saying, now that I think about it - that there's basically massive demand and thus a long wait).

This is GOOD NEWS though eh? Here's to hoping this means the next one will be a 45mm with OMG OMG... the new Wear3100 SoC with the full color ambient/low power mode... *drool*. Thew watchfaces from TH in their app are SO beautiful the only thing missing is color in ambient.

OOOH OOOH...AND it;s fully compatible with the accessories from the current 45mm line AND you can trade in the old 45mm watch for a small credit towards the purchase of the new one (honestly even if it's a piddly $100 credit, to me it's more about YET ANOTHER piece of electronic that is gonna collect dust in the back of my cupboard..cuz I'm never gonna be able to sell this).

From what I'd gathered I think the Connected is a huge part of TAG sales... incidentally I read the other day that they sold about 675,000 watches last year.

THEY ARE? (is 675k a lot? idk, lol). this is getting weirder and weirder, so far all you're saying is making perfect sense: they keep releasing new variations of the connected line here and there...but like, how does the entirety of Canada not have a SINGLE store that actively sells connected? (Some have had it in stock on occasion, a few will order, but none i've talked to so far still stock anything connected at all).

Rolex sell about one million a year, 675K is a good share of the market. Can't really explain the Canada thing as I live in the UK. Sorry.

That's AWESOME news though, means that - unless the TagHeuer leadership are really dumb (you guys will have to tell me if they are or not! 馃榿) we're SURE to get a 3100 TagHeuer watch... *drool*.

BTW, how good is Tag at listening to their customer demands? Some companies are really bad at it (*ahem* google), others a bit better...it's clear to me everyone wants an update to the connected with modern SoC, works with THC45 accesories and a trade in option!

They are improving that. This year brought two surveys and they are doing an effort to get Customer feedback.

That's true. The problem is I suspect a lot of things that people say they 'want' don't necessarily work in terms of making profits, like people wanting better movements for the same price... you can argue they should make a better product and less profit, but most companies have an issue with that.

In my responses, I prioritized Design, way ahead of Movements. I suspect most TAG Heuer fans would agree.

I sure hope the new model has a 41mm option. the 45 is just impossibly large for my wrist.

馃榿 And 45mm for me, please!!

45 is big enough for me, and I hope third gen Connected will be also Modular, and will be compatible with current Modular 45 accessories... 馃檮

If it moves to 46, maybe it would not be compatible 馃檨

About the 41, if sales figures were good enough, for sure it will be launched again 馃憤

When I was talking to a TAG Heuer representative a few weeks ago, I mentioned your particular case to see if they will retain compatibility. We'll just have to wait and see if they do.

馃榾 Good, and what an honor! 馃憤

I hope TH will take into account all of us who have invested in the TH Modular system, and could invest more if 3rd gen is compatible 馃檮

Yes, it would break my heart to see your vast collection left behind when Gen 3 is released next year.
