with the one who does not use the color logo have the same problem? It is the only difference they have ... if you like only a specific color, you can use a version that uses only one color and look at the battery consumption

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question about watchmaker faces & a slightly annoying issue with them.

If you have aod turned off, when waking the watch, the second hand is always in the position of when it was last woken up, before quickly skipping to correct second .

Eg watch second hand is at 15 seconds & you put face to sleep. You then wake the watch 15 seconds later & it's still at 15, but quickly skips to 30 continuing to tick as intended.

It's only a small detail, but the official tag faces don't do this, so just wondering if it's a feature of Watchmaker or if there are some settings to stop this?

I've got the Gen3 steel bracelet with black ceramic bezel.

Thanks!!!

Hi!

I have AOD always turned on, so I have not this issue, but I guess it depends on the watchface you are wearing. For instance, all faces I customize have the second hand running in bright mode, but it goes to zero (or to show watch battery level) in dimmed mode. That way you should not have this issue even with AOD turned off.

For instance, try this customized version of previous Monte Carlo Rally Timer face posted by @connected1976 :

Now the seconds hand is running only in bright mode, and it shows watch battery level when dimmed.

Thanks for the reply!

I'll have a play around & see if it helps.

Do you guys see much of a difference between official Tag faces & the ones made on watchmaker in terms of performance & functionality?

Yes! A big difference! But the biggest difference is when you have AOD turned on, because with the official faces you have just a minimalist design in dimmed mode, while you can have a fully detailed and coloured dimmed mode with a WatchMaker face.

Official faces are designed with this very basic dimmed mode in order to have better battery life, while with WatchMaker you are free to choose from a more detailed dimmed mode (and higher battery consumption) to a less detailed face in dimmed mode (and better battery life)

It could be a big difference in battery consumption depending on which WatchMaker face are you wearing. If it has images in too high resolution, or there are too many mobile elements, the battery could last shorter than usual, and watch could run slower than usual. Something you never will experience with official faces.

So it mainly depends on the particular WatchMaker face you are wearing. For instance, this WatchMaker face offers a really low battery consumption, even with AOD turned on:
