Just picked up the exchange 46mm tonight. I can say it's a titanium back. The dial isn't textured but has kind of a sheen to it when held at an angle to a light. The mechanical 45 module didn't seem to do this.

I always liked the 46 bezel a lot more than the 45 so that's why I went with the 46 mechanical. That and I just don't like those top and bottom caps. The 46 definitely does not have that.
Would really appreciate it if we can get some photos! Thanks.

Sure thing guys! The second one shows that kind of sheen I was talking about. Even in the last picture, it's somewhat visible. Also took a picture with my 45 to show the difference in height.

Thanks for confirming. This is super interesting, I was almost certain it was a plastic back given its color.

Thanks for the photos as well, if you don't mind taking one at this angle it would be super helpful. I'm curious if the dial is set deeper in the 45mm vs the 46mm, given the difference in thickness.

Yeah, doesn't look as deep. Also the crystal doesn't extend as far out.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like dial is starburst which is nice. If only bezel was ceremic just like modular 45

Wish they'd offer something in-between the Calibre 5 and the Tourbillon. Like a mid-priced chrono - that's something I'd definitely go for.

@icwhatudidthere Did the actually require you to hand over the original Connected watch (and the $1500)? Wondering what they are going to do with all these old watches, it seems a little wasteful when they work and we could still be using them if we wanted to.

Yeah, they did. At first they even wanted the box back but while writing up the transaction they got an email saying it wasn't required. They didn't even take the charging puck which I have no use for now.

I'm wondering why they don't offer the Heuer-01 chrono for the Modular 45? It's 45mm, so should be easy to make a modular!

We discussed this at the beginning of the year on this forum, where we speculated if the modular concept could extend to other lines. We'll have to wait for next Baselworld to find out if this materialises.

Well, yesterday evening I got my 46mm for the upgrade. Looks fantastic. The reason I choose the 46 was the same I got the connected in the first place. To have a Tag mechanical, special edition, made only for the connected owners. I don't know how they can keep this promise and I thinking the $3200 will have a special Tag value in the future. Hopefully...

One more thing. I used a magnifier to look closer at the dial. I believe the dial is also a titanium plate with no starburst. The foto made thru the crystal gives the impression of a starburst.
