I really hope the trade-in watch will be a little bit slimmer. With connected's 13mm it barely fits under the shirt's sleeve, and I don't like the idea of wearing an automatic watch on casual Fridays only.
Calibre 5 is a quite small movement, it'll surely fit into a much smaller case.

Is the trade in still available? I am thinking of getting a Connected.

You can already buy a used connected from cex for £690. They only offering £324 if you sell to them. Using this as an example and the fact that this ltd edition carrera is supposed to have a Rrp of £1800.

Trading up-£1100 plus another £1100 for connected 2. £2200 to own both.

Selling- receive £400 max for old connected watch. Pay out £1800 for similar carrera 5 plus £1100 for connected 2. Therefore paid a total of £2500 for both.

what if you don't own a connected? Buy from cex for £690, trade up pay £1100, buy connected 2 £1100. Total paid out say £2900. Or

Just buy a carrera 5 £1800, a connected 2 for £1100, total paid £2900.

So unless you can grab a connected for less than £700 it ain't worth buying second hand. Best bet, just buy the watches as normal.

The only issue is apparently the calibre 5 will only be available as an upgrade, not to buy individually. Be interesting to see if they are available for purchase or if a bunch pop up on the grey market if people don't upgrade.

I think a few will be bought and sold on straight away for a quick profit. My guess is that it wouldn't be too difficult to get one for about £1500.

Even at £1500 you're still taking a hit - a total price of £2200 inc the Connected plus the upgrade fee if you bought new, or around £1700 if you bought the Connected used.

I guess the initial resale price will depend on the take up, and just how many people want the Carrera who don't already have the Connected

Yeah but he was talking about buying one outright. Getting the connected first means a two year wait to trade in. Plus by then the design will probably have changed.

My earlier post shows how much it would cost for both owners and non owners using current rrps's.

It is but we guessing a few will hit the market as new by the guys who upgrade to make a quick profit.

I saw this Calibre 5 at the Munich Airport Tag Heuger Store selling for euro 1,600 includes tax ...
Really hope that I am wrong . Also got an email form the Tag Heuer store HK I can trade in my connected 3,200 HKD for the new connected 45 ..

Hello Folks, maybe we just have to wait for the owners of the OG Connected that will decide to switch in November17.. OR... do you have any news/pictures/info about the Calibre5 Exchange ? I believe the "production run" should be already over now.. cheers !!

I like how it does not have those two flanges that the connected modular has - it is more attractive with a cleaner look (my opinion) - the black and red colors look terrific

Hey guys

Looks like in a couple of weeks it will hit the two anniversary of the OG Connected watch.

Just wondering who’s looking to trade for the Connected Carerra LTD and have you contacted your boutique’s for information.

I spoke to a Tag Heuer rep and they still haven’t heard anything from Tag as to how this exchange programme is going to work.

my connected anniversary is 19th November 2017.

My closest Tag Boutique has a list of owners wishing to trade up but has no watches a valuable yet.

original proof of purchase or tag warranty registration will be required to purchase . If buying second hand you would need to make sure the required paperwork is availiable.

Do the users think this exchange watch will be collectable?

This is the reply from Tag uk

After the two years’ warranty for a period of 3 months only, you can upgrade your watch for £1,100.00 to a special edition Carrera which will be only available for TAG Heuer Connected owners. The watch has an automatic 3-hands movement and resembles the design and materials the TAG Heuer Connected.

The exchange can be processed through any of our worldwide stores selling the connected watch or by contacting our UK support centre. Please note you will be required to present your purchase guarantee card or some form of proof of purchase."

Received the exchange email from TAG these are the options: I went with option number 2 since I have the modular connected. The 46mm looks good also but I have various straps that I can interchange. Bye Connected OG.
