David, great project and this must have been a chance of a lifetime for you and Hubert also by the sounds of it. I think we all owe you a round of applause.
I have ordered mine and hopefully as we live in the same country now, we can meet up for a chat one day over a flat white (a Downunder fav) and compare limited edition numbers on our Siffert Autavias. I'm presuming all this effort afforded you 1/100. Job well done, thanks.

I would have thought 11/100 馃槈.

Congratulations @Calibre11. A very understated collaboration with some subtle and thoughtful detailing that most would not even notice.

Absolutely. In fact, David and I had a side-conversation about this particular aspect very early on, after he was generous enough to share some of his conceptual ideas. For example, one of those had the C11 logo on the caseback, which didn't really work and was eventually abandoned.

David kept refining the design countless times in collaboration with TAG Heuer, in order to have a truly elegant and understated look. The finished product you see today, is truly the culmination of those efforts and we have to thank them for that discerning attention to detail.

So beautiful! Awesome work and really impressed with the result.

It looks incredible and is certainly elegant and understated as you say. The use of a similar strap from the Autavia Cup concepts is an absolute winner. I think it looks fresh and new but still has a perfect 60s automotive feel with that strap. Great choice.

I'm really greatful to @Calibre11 and @Hubert for all the work they have put into this. This is the first Autavia I have wanted to buy and really is what the current generation should have looked like from day one.

Hopefully this won't be the last collaboration

Yes, having the leather strap was a great addition. This is one of the key features of this model over the JH85.

What is not to like with this collab? Understated, focused on a clean and classic racing chrono interface, no faux patina, numbered limited edition, yet affordable and sturdy enough to be a daily wearer. Ordered mine right away.

Well done @Calibre11

I also hope there will be more collaborations in the future. When the C11 collaboration idea resurfaced last year (remember we've been having this conversation for years), I suggested three ideas to David, after he shared two of his original designs, one if which was the Siffert Autavia.

At that point, it occurred to me to research Siffert's history to try to find any significance and serendipitously learned that 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Siffert's first victory in 1968 British Grand Prix. So in my mind this milestone anniversary perfectly justified David's idea of doing a Siffert model for his Calibre11 collaboration with TAG Heuer.

Yes, Hubert was the first to pick up on the 50th Anniversary!

Here's a little peak at what was on my wrist in July last year (these things take time!)....the first prototype Note that:
- Dial is more of a "dirty" white with a subtle sunburst finish rather than a "white white" on the final watch
- White date disc
- Aged lume
- "Heuer 02" on the dial

At the time I didn't know if an agreement could be reached with the Sifferts, so the caseback has the Calibre 11 logo

As suggested, a write up on the experience @Calibre11 and look at prototypes would be wonderful! Grateful that I was in a position, financially and timing-wise, to pick one of these up.

And I was trying to figure out if this release had a connection to 1968 - 2018 馃榾 - I actually requested # 68 of this model as it is my birthyear and this watch will be my birthday gift to myself! ::psy::

Besides the historical significance of the 50th anniversary, the other aspect that occurred to me after stumbling into Siffert's victory in 1968, is that in that year, the 60's Autavia cases resembled the ones currently used in the new TAG Heuer 2017 Autavias.

Since the C-style case on the 1163T Chronomatic (below), would see its introduction until 1969, this is yet another reason why this 2018 C11 50th anniversary homage could be seen as more historically accurate a 50th anniversary homage. 馃榾 I don't know if anybody else cares, but for me this was a way to justify the use of this case style.

Hey, I'm just a big fan of all you Heuer guys and followed the scent (OK, that sounds wrong but you know what I mean).

Next collaboration I'm going to be less sleuth and just enjoy the show! But there were so many clues. I had a lot of fun thinking about it and looking for crumbs through the forum / Instagram, although my wife got annoyed because I talked about it too much. Classic.

If I hadn't just bought a mint Pre-Viceroy I would've picked up this collaboration in a heartbeat!

Bravo again.

I also meant to mention the fact that both the bracelet and strap are included along with a custom box is a real bonus.

Thanks @Hubert!

I think so, it is in April so the delivery should even work out. Let's hope I can get 68 as requested (before the 50th connections you accurately pointed out were announced).

Looking forward to the Siffert! I have the reverse panda CBE2110 (which is unfortunately getting serviced in Switzerland right now but that is another story) and was tempted to get the JH85th or Steel Daytona panda to compliment. Glad I waited! Well done!
