I didn't mean to offend anyone here for not using the "proper" TAG name or look to be schooled on it either, geesh. Everywhere I look at least, Heuer and TAG Heuer are considered part of the same family. My dealer understands this anyways. And both names are loved in my collection.
I guess this is a particularly divisive issue on this forum? I will self-censor myself now

It’s completely okay sir! I love my Heuer (Re-Editions) and TAG Heuer chronographs equally and just the same. 👍 Yes you are right, it is still one big happy family 😀 We are not talking about Heuer vintage watches which are from the 60s/70s era so yes, the official “Siffert Autavia” is TAG Heuer era with Heuer provenance 😉

They are the same, Abrod is in denial. If TAG had left the name alone we wouldn't have any of this, they would still have made exactly the same watches - hence my post about the genie. Ah, but what can you do.... they (very stupidly) did change the name and gave the old school watch conservationists a stick to beat them with. But then, look... some people think that Manchester United wasn't the same club after the Munich air crash. 😵‍💫

The advantage is that vintage Heuer is protected from any current and future strategies, the brand rests definitely in the past. Had the shenanigans of the past 20 years happened with Heuer badges we would be in worse shape. I think I love TAG Heuer most for what it could be rather than is. Heuer re-editions are a great micro universe for vintage Heuer nuts that aren't (completely) stuck in the past. I know a few Heuer fanatics that stay clear of anything after 1985. So be it. We get to experience new watches with new movements which are inspired by the classics. The designers can go all out Heuer because they don't have to target the typical TAG Heuer audience. Everybody wins.
I get to search for my grail vintage pieces, buy the re-editions I like and whine a lot about skeleton Carreras, 58mm ARs and quartz F1s. Perfecto

And seems to be rarer than the PVD version as far as I can tell. Did you see that nice one posted recently?

There is a stainless steel Driver Timer too.

The Drive Timer is a bezel-less 43mm watch and quite big. The DLC actually helps that IMO (as does the titanium case with weight), can't imagine what the steel one wears like 😵‍💫

I don't tend to follow these so probably missed it. I'm sure I've said in the past, I'm a big fan of 'black' watches so would far rather have the PVD than Chrome version anyway....but I do agree you see the chrome ones much less often.
ps even better if it's quartz! 😜

I also tend to prefer the PVD Monza, but haven't quite been tempted enough into one yet. Think if I ever came across a cheap Racing Mate I'd have to buy it though

I like it much better with the leather strap 🥰 But I'm glad both options are available! Will be replacing the brown leather strap of the Rindt Autavia with the BoR bracelet from the Siffert Autavia 😉

I'm also interested in hearing suggestions. As much as I've tried, I just don't like pin-buckle straps. TAG Heuer make excellent deployant clasps, but challenging with a 21mm lug width for the strap.

Could you 'massage' a 22mm strap between the lugs?

Where would I find information on the lug widths of current watches?

Would any of the 39mm glassbox Carreras or 2020 42mm Carreras have the needed width?
