I mean, this watch is not a Heuer so technically he didn't make a mistake 馃槣

Yes he did! Usually only rolex and other high priced timepieces are available there. I mean after explaining that I am really in pursuit of this one particular brand. Nothing. I just asked for ONE thing! Last year he had a Carrera WAR2150 that peeked my interest for a bit but that one caught me at the wrong time.

Speaking of which, seeing the Monzas trading below US $3k is making them verrry tempting. Though I can tell I would never wear it and probably just sell it.

And yet even so...

Because it's a nasty horrible TAG?

So one day I was walking through the park and I found a magic lamp. I picked it up and rubbed it (as you would) and lo and behold a genie appeared... she said (yes it was a female genie with massive norks), she said 'Rob, you have freed me from the lamp and as such I can grant you....'
'Three wishes?' I said impatiently.
She looked at me and sighed.
'What is it with you people and three wishes? Where do you get this rubbish from?'
'Sorry...' I said.
She tutted loudly and then said '...one wish'.
Aha!
But what to choose, I could have all the money in the world, all the hottest Instagram bitches at my beck and call, an even larger penis... and then it hit me. There was only one possible answer.
'Could you make it so that Heuer never changed their name to TAG Heuer?'
The genie looked at me incredulously.
'Really? That's what you want to do with your one wish?'
'Oh yes, I don't want anything else to change though, just TAG bought the company but never put TAG in front of the name'.
'That's all you want.'
'Yes.'
She closed her eyes and clicked her fingers, then opened them and said 'It is done'.
I lifted my wrist up to look at my 45mm skeleton dial Heuer 01 and saw that indeed the dial now read 'Heuer'.
I lifted my other wrist up to look at my 34mm resin coated quartz Formula 1 My Little Pony special edition and saw that it too now read Heuer on the dial (as well as the crown).
Then I burst out laughing.... hysterically, for ages. And when I finally stopped the genie had gone.

Yes, I've noticed that too. Almost worth picking one up. It wears well for a large watch - the slim profile helps. But I guess in my heart of hearts, I know it's a little bit on the large side for me, so wouldn't do it unless the price was very attractive (I'd likely end up selling it down the line).

I saw recently that a couple of used ones had scratches in the black coating, quite a turn off if one plans to actually wear and use the watch

Yeah, I find I'm just not reaching for my black watches in the morning. The custom Speedmaster, the Drive Timer, and so on - as much as I think they look very cool and even enjoy wearing them, they just aren't really my style in the end I think.
