Great shots of the watches! I just noticed right now that they changed the "TAG" logo, which used to be a "stylized TAG". Not sure which version I prefer, but I always liked the stylized TAG with the arrows in the letters.

The logo changed a year ago. However, this is the first time it's being used on the new F1s. But it was used from the beginning on the Heuer-01 & 02.

Thanks Hubert. Considering I just bought my F1 last year, I didn't realize they changed the logo. Have they started using the new logo on the other series besides the Heuer 01 & 02? I didn't notice. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

No worries. The use of the new logo across the board appears to be from this moment onward. Previously, I believe only the Heuer-01 and 02 had it.

No. The official Baselworld releases are the ones here http://www.calibre11.com/2016-tag-heuer-baselworld/

The other shots taken through glass are of watches that will be released this year, but they're not the key focus...they're here to be shown to dealers to place orders rather than to media.
Thanks. Let me ask this another way... do you know if there are watches being shown to the dealers that we have not seen pictures of?

Probably...a couple that I know of, so photos of those may sneak out

Some very odd points here from Stern:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...e-to-tag-heuer-your-15-000-watch-is-too-cheap

The point about the smartwatch is debatable- OK, we don't know who the winners will be in this game yet, so that seems like a fair opinion.

But what to make of these comments?

Stern said TAG Heuer’s decision to offer a $15,000 watch featuring a complex spinning mechanism known as a tourbillon is “nearly a joke to me” that sacrifices sophisticated craftsmanship for a rush for sales

“If they’re willing to try to kill the quality of the Swiss product, I think they’re on a very good track,” he said.

Looks to me like code for "Hey, we all know that these things can be produced more cheaply, but the market pays huge premiums and so long as we all price the same then no-one will know"

Of course the quality of the finishing on a Patek tourbillon is light years ahead...and so it should be. But that comment also applies to cases and other movements. There's a reason that TAG Heuer costs 10-20x less than a Patek!

Let's illustrate with an example; a new Porsche Turbo S will get to 100km/h in about 2.9sec. The Audi R8 V10, in 2.7.
More exclusive Koenigsegg and Bugattis will get you there with fractions less, costing 3-4 times more.

Are Porsche and Audi hurting the German automotive craftsmanship? Of course not.

There's a point where performance, technology, with time, go mainstream. What differs is exclusivity, and of course manufacturing processes and prowess relevant to each brand.

On the other hand, the brand name Patek can afford to command a very high price premium. That's what top luxury is all about, and I don't believe Tag Heuer is pretending to go

Disappointed if that's all the reveals we are getting, I was hoping for another classic themed carrera and an aquaracer-01 (or 02..).

A couple of pieces of news from today:
- There is a new Carrera Heuer-02T in Rose Gold
- Confirmed that the Calibre 17 movement is still supplied by ETA
- Confirmed that the Calibre 1887 movement will be reserved now for the Carrera Heuer-01 series (both 45mm and 43mm models). The more classic Carrera will continue, but all will now be Calibre 16/ Sellita or Calibre 17

Here's the black-dial version of the Carrera Heuer-01 43mm I posted yesterday. This one is a winner

Thanks! Has availability been announced for any of the new releases? Or should we expect them around Q3 or Q4?

Here's the black-dial version of the Carrera Heuer-01 43mm

Can we get a photo of how tall it sits on the wrist? Is it shorter than the 45, or is it the same case just in 43mm?
