    Christie's auction this weekend.
Has anyone ever seen a Montreal like this one before? Apparently signed 110503B but more than a few things differ from that reference.
Looks mismatched but then I haven't seen such hour markers before. Also the white tachy doesn't have 'tachymetre' so no simple mismatch of the white Montreal tachy although the white subdial hands suggest so. Blue subdials, white lume on the hour hands,...

The bezel seems OK-this Montreal bezel design doesn't always have 'Tachtmetre' written, as per this less usual 110.503W-http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/72.Montreal/f.Ref_110.503W_White/

However the dial concerns me as the font isn't typical for a Montreal nor does the date window have a surround. (although this design can be seen on some other of the later Heuer models) Hands are a bit 'pointy' too.

'Service invoice of Tag Heuer, dated 23 Mai 2017 and a Tag Heuer service Box.' could this be what passes for a TH service dial/hands these days.......?

Wonder if the white tension ring is the only replacement part they offer too - I agree it's from a white dial model.

This "Paintless Wonder" Carrera just ended on eBay at $4400 - strong money for a watch that will require some capital expenditure for parts. It's beautiful though, and were it less expensive I'd have gone for it.

Thing is, most of the Heuer paintless wonders seen (Monacos and Silverstones usually) are uneven, and still in the process of losing their paint. This one is completely down to the brass - yet the markings still survive 100% intact (a feature consistent with other paintless wonders). Truly remarkable - I wish I had the resources and connections to buy this one and get it into fighting shape!

Apologies if it is discouraged from posting auction links but my wife's family is selling estate items from her elderly grandfather. Among them is a Heuer Carrera 2547. Item is listed on proxibid and sale has to finish through there. I believe he got this watch when he was in the air force and he is the type of guy to pick up one-of-a-kind things like this during his world travels.

Auction ends in just over a day but I was trying to reach an audience that would appreciate something like this.
If there are any questions, i'll try to answer.
One side note, there is an internet premium and possibly sales tax as part of the listing. I am not tremendously familiar with proxibid but that may add cost and I don't want to mislead anyone.

Yes I see the difference ( I think with the hands, but again could that just be down to lighting?
Either way , does this seem a reasonable punt or stay away?

Personally I'd steer clear of this one Mike. Hands are wrong, case is wrong. Reasonable chance the movement is generic and not Heuer signed too; in which case you're paying £00s for a Heuer dial. (and a watch that may look kinda nice to some, but sure ain't Heuer!)
    Best,
    Steve

Okdoky, happy to give this a miss.
This is what forums are all about, good advice, speedily given.
Still itching to get a 36mm Heuer Chrono on my wrist sometime soon.
    Thanks
    Mike

looks legit to me. Dial has faded but rest of the watch looks original. No obvious signs of polishing. Priced accordingly although maybe a bit on the high side.

Thanks for your opinion :) I knew there were black dial 1st exec Carreras with silver printing but on this example you can even see the black dial through the printing... Maybe just exposed to sun light a lot...
