Doing my daily trawl of the auction platforms and while waiting to see what happens to a fair to middling looking Omega Speedmaster in the same auction, I came across this:

Immediate thoughts - the dial should be T SWISS on the 3147 (the 1st exec with date at 12 even had T SWISS so this 2nd execution one should have too). Looks like a Rolex-stylee cyclops crystal, which I don't think Heuer ever fitted. And what the hell's going on with the subdial markers?

Oh, and in the same auction,

Now, Autavias aren't really my bag so I don't know much about them, but I'd bet the chrono hand is wrong, wonder what's the deal with the red marker just before 6, and that bezel looks a little too crisp for my liking. And the crown... not so sure about that either...

Carrera was a redial, if not an outright franken. Autavia is genuine but has had a nasty 1980s-style relume and has the wrong crown

The same Californian seller also has something that resembles a calculator:

Came across a CS3111 Carrera reissue. I'm pretty confident that it is authentic, but was wondering if anyone could confirm that for me based on the pics below. It's going for about ~$1,900 and the only thing that isn't original is the strap. Good deal?

It is, but request better, sharper photos as that lug looks like it had a hard life.

It's real for sure. Doubt you'll find any convincing fakes of that model. It's also unusual to find one with the original strap that's still in good condition. But deduct a few $ if it doesn't have the original Heuer buckle.

At £4,000 with a day to go... I think that's too much though. Here's why:

-Dented-up case with soft bevels (at this point even a skilled polish would be noticeable)

-One missing pusher and one dented pusher (very very hard to find replacements)

-Chrono not resetting to zero (unfortunately, Chronomatic movements with problems are very difficult and expensive to repair)

And the nail in the coffin, from the seller's own description (emphasis mine):

Many a deal has been gotten on old watches with beautiful dials under scratched-up crystals, but a dirty dial is very difficult to rectify.

Unfortunately, rehabilitating this watch back to a nice condition will take far too much money and effort to end up being worth it, considering that this is a Mk6 Siffert, which are the least rare versions.

This is one of the most excellent-condition Camaros I've seen, and while the seller has it listed as a 7743 it most definitely is not...

*will one of you please buy it so I don't have to?

Fair enough. I had no idea how much it would be worth. I didn't think the case looked too bad, though, and the dial - well difficult to say. It doesn't look too "dirty" under there, but are those cracks near the Heuer logo on the dial or the crystal?

Yeah this has been listed a few times now. I reached out in mid-April to ask the serial so I could clarify some points for the seller, to help list it correctly. No reply so apparently not interested. NIce piece of course....but you don't need another 9220 do you Mr abrod ...?

I don't have the budget to buy it, and don't really need another Camaro. But it's amazing, so if nobody else does I will probably make an offer... If you like it, go for it - it's all correct and the dial has beautiful lume

Huh strange, it's never popped up on my radar before it was listed last week. I wonder if the seller just doesn't check their messages?

I definitely do not need another 9220! And 100% cannot afford it. But just look at this one
