As I thought - FC6261 is a black alligator strap. Maybe they can't sell it cos it's endangered, but they could have found a black strap

That is crazy money. I guess the previous owner being who he is adds a premium to it and increases the desirability of the watch

Christies just sold a Monaco Sixty Nine (CW9110) with non-original papers and an "undated guarantee card" for 6000+ USD. Clearly people have money and clearly no idea about what they're buying. I don't blame Christies - they clearly advertised what they're selling (Cal 16 booklet for a Monaco 69!!!! :whipped:)

Sorry, my mistake. Christies sold the CW9111, basically the same as the normal Monaco 69, but autographed by an Indian actor (who was TH ambassador some years back). The watch essentially is the same as the conventional CW9110.
