Regular readers will recall this special edition Carrera from around 2011 http://www.calibre11.com/2011-carrera-special-edition/ It's a cool design, and one that was never sold through the normal dealer network, instead going straight to the outlets stores after its general release was cancelled. They don't come up often, but there is one on eBay at GBP900 with 12 hours left.
The small hands are similar to that on the 300SLR. It's really a nice watch and would look awesome on a rally strap with white lining
Not an auction per se, but this McLaren edition Kirium looks great for less than USD1000. http://www.chrono24.com/en/tagheuer...nium-boxpapers-limited-edition--id4030205.htm
Item #272156930597 But it only lasted 24hrs before it was sold.....to me! Should be delivered to my US buddy on Tuesday and picked up by me next Sunday.
Here's an interesting one (if you happen to live close to Stafford, UK) Dodgy sounding seller, absolutely no history of selling decent watches, crappy description indicates this is a Calibre 15 (ha!) but........ His truly awful picture looks very much like a 2011 Limited Edition Calibre 36 'Heritage' 1911 Monza (CR5112) Before someone put in a bid a few minutes ago, his Buy it Now price was £2195 No way you'd chance agreeing to his request of BACS transfer in advance of delivery, but if you happen to live near Stafford and potentially have access to somewhere near £2k in cash, it could be worthwhile asking this guy for a few more photos just to determine whether this actually is a bargain? http://tinyurl.com/hptkv5e (Item# 182047954757 if the link doesn't work) EDIT: Just seen he's lifted the description (including spelling error of "cushion") from here: http://www.tagheuer.co.uk/int-en/watchmaking-history/monza
Yeah, no way you'd do a BACS payment for someone with only a 91% feedback rating. The listing allows PayPal but I reckon he'd try and argue against it if you paid using that method.
I'm not interested but dangled a carrot anyway: "Hi, any chance of a couple more close-up photos of the watch? (One of the front and one of the back?) Do you have any paperwork / warranty card? If so, could I get a picture of those as well? I'd be interested in a cash on collection sale if the pictures look good. Thanks, Adam" His response: "Ill see what better images i can get and get back to you." EDIT: Now removed from eBay. Ho hum.
Sitting on flight home with Tele Cal 18 in my bag. It's gorgeous. Will post pics when I get home (and sober up, hic!)
Let's see where this will go http://www.ebay.com/itm/311587067618?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
If you plug "FC5042" into eBay right now you'll find a decent Spanish seller offering this Heuer deployment clasp new for approx £100 delivered. That's a really good price. As a head's up, the FC5042 is the 18mm version for watches with 20mm lug width.

I did note that Carrera McLaren...my only concern was that the seller has no history. Watch looks genuine though
The seller's description of the watch is also very succinct. No details onto why is he or she selling the watch, its origins etc.. only a photo of a certificate from a jeweler that could be anything.
