Any rumors about any heritage Autavia 60th Anniversary for next year?

41mm case with a 17mm thickness is gonna be quite bloaty. But it looks nice, without the date window it might've been worth trying at some point.
I totally agree, 17mm is too much and it would have been better without the date. But in general it is a great release by Sinn. I would love to see some more Autavia heritage models coming from TH.

Good job from Sinn, although as much as I love them, it does irritate how blatantly they copy old Heuer designs. Compared to the Autavia Heuer 02, I prefer this bezel and smaller size, but otherwise I'd stick with the Autavia.

The 17mm does allow for a domed crystal, but many found the 15.9mm of the Autavia to be too much, so 17mm on a smaller 41mm diameter will mean you'd have to try this one one first.

In the meantime Sinn has just released a new model celebrating their 60 anniversary, the 103 classic 12, limited edition to 600 units.
Very similar case to the 2446C and a superb 12 hours ceramic bezel. What do you think about it?
Nice Almostavia!

The Sinn is nice, but compared to the Autavia 2446c pictured above by @Calibre11, there's no contest for me. If only TH would develop that manual wind H02 we all want to provide a thinner case profile. 😗

Whuuuuut?

*also has a display back, which they could have gone without to save a mm or two. After all it's just a Sellita 510

*Domed sapphire displayback. (no idea why the hell they went with a domed crystal for the caseback, but whatever)

On the wrist I don't think it'll be dramatically thick.

Could've shaved probably 1-1,5mm by using a flat caseback crystal.

My financial district chrono from Sinn is 15,5mm thick and has a version of the SW510, but only 100m water resistant, so wondering if water resistance has something to add to the 103.

I have not heard of any heritage Autavia plans or rumors.

Notice that this dude carefully selected the words heritage Autavia.

I’m in the impression that the CBE Autavia Chronographs are already the “heritage” ones. So I’m not sure TAG Heuer has still plans in the pipeline.

The CBE series Autavia is dead unfortunately…so I doubt there is anything happening with this heritage chrono style

Agree sir DC 👍 I suggest to those looking around for Autavia Chronographs, there are 8 designs to choose from.

Rindt, JH85, Calibre11 Siffert, Viceroy, Hodinkee Orange Boy, Sediqqi, Harrods, WoS. Some others relatively easy to attain, some are super hard (like Siffert 😉)

Some would opt for the vintage ones. I like this Heritage / Re edition Autavias and IMHO, TAG Heuer did a great job here.👍

Really? Slightly surprised at this as I thought there was more that could be done with the line still-it seems like a relatively short run.

Change of hands, change of direction perhaps....

I think its the re-positioning of the Autavia as a quasi-Pilot watch that killed off the CBE design, which has its origins in Motorsport. I’d expect any new Autavia to follow this new design theme…no more motor sport.

It’s a shame: I think if the Carrera range was wound back a little, there would be room for the Autavia…but too many Carreras that monopolise the car racing space.

It is a shame as it's just moving even further away from it's namesake then. I guess there is a (tenuous) argument for this line to still be called 'Autavia' (i.e. the AVIA part 😒) but it does seem to be so-named for the sake of it as it has, well, nothing to do with the historic Autavia as known....

A re-edition of the compressor case would be awesome
Yes, I've been asking for that, since the Autavia Cup.

Why not just grab a Sinn 103? Essentially the same case style and the dials are pretty similar.

I'd say the compressor-case Autavia was not a major enough part of Heuer's history to ever merit a reissue, unfortunately.

I have the Rindt, the Jack Heuer, the Calibre 11, and the Viceroy. I am missing the other 4.

I can’t possibly be the only one who struggles to ever feel enough love for these CBE Autavias to (eventually) pull the trigger (?) These are certainly nice chronos in their own right, but the fact that they went with a rather “atypical” Autavia case shape just doesn’t cut it for me.

If I buy a 60/70s-inspired chrono, I’d much rather have a cushion/tonneau-shaped case. And the massive-looking Rindt bezel just kind of finishes killing it (for me). So I guess no Autavia chrono for me ever (given how the prices for the vintage originals have now gone through the roof) 🙁

In other news: Why is TH not doing a re-edition of a GMT chrono model? The H02 offers this complication, after all.

I respectfully disagree: We have the Monacos that co-exist with the Carrera line-up. And TH has kept adding LEs and even new production models to the former regularly. Hell - even the Monza re-edition has stuck around in parallel to the Carreras and Monacos for quite a number of years (IIRC).

I really cannot see how having some additional Autavias around would pose serious problems. After all, the (heritage-inspired) chronos is where TH can charge big bucks as there’s hardly any competition in the marketplace with the same level of “street credibility”…

I've asked the same question a few times as well. Completely missed opportunity. 🤦
