Yup. Nice to know the details now. The v1.6 WearOS update actually downloaded all of the code. Now we're just waiting for the re-boot notification from Google which will be sent when their online servers are ready for us. Could happen at any time this week...

I woke up this morning to an Update notice on my OG Connected 46.

Nice to see Tag still does update this supposedly eol-watch. Or are these purely Google updates without Tag having to do anything with it?

Fun fact: on the last photo (versions) it says "Android Wear" again, while before the update it stated "WearOS"...

It did happen tonight. Had the notification this morning and all set now. I did notice something though - my iphone notifications don't always display on the CM45. I do get a vibration notification but nothing on screen. Maybe need to restart my watch once.

The redesigned now-playing panel is a lot more realistic, showing only pause/play functions in ambient mode (those were the only functions that actually worked when you tapped them in ambient mode on the old panel). I did like how the old panel went away if the music was paused after a while but could be retrieved from notifications. The new panel is up until you dismiss it, then it is re-activated from settings.

I really like about the new update that notification actions now mirror the exact options you have on the phone (Android). Helps leaving the phone inside the pocket now even more times than before.

I wonder if this update fixes the "wacked out screen when wet" issue...

If you immerse your watch (swimming for instance), the screen will act flaky, like its repeatedly being tapped everywhere until it dries out.

Yesterday I was standing out and the sun was out and noticed the screen was doing what you said and it wasn't wet .. in the shadow you don't really see it

First day at the gym with WearOS v2.0 and I can say that the action of the now-playing panel is completely different. First, there is really good tactical control over music functions on the panel now. Before you had to press repeatedly to get it to respond. However, the improvement comes at a price: my headset pause/previous/next buttons are no longer working. I have to use the watch to perform these functions now. All that works on my headphones is volume up/down. Also, the now playing panel seems to be tied to the last application that was playing. ie. at the gym, I was using Pandora but when I got home, I fired up Spotify. The now playing panel remained locked onto the Pandora app until I physically closed it, then it switched over to Spotify. Before, the now playing panel would show whichever app was actually playing.

So, good news bad news I guess.

I have experienced this too when i went swimming with it for the first time earlier this year. I thought it maybe had a leak and i almost ruined it but this seems to be something common.

touch lock is a workaround as long as you don't disable touch lock again before the watch has dried out....

Were you nice to it? It helps to whisper in a pleasing tone lest you anger the android gods. Whenever I put mine in the charger I always make sure to light incense and play my crystal bowls. 馃槈

Seriously though, the reply options changed in this release. You may want to play with it to verify how it works.

Thanks for not getting angry at my stupid joke. I always found the reply feature to be such a pain in the ass that I opt to do that on my phone. I am never in a situation where talking to my watch is acceptable (I seem to be either in a meeting or in a high noise environment), not being able to modify the canned responses (as none of them work for me), and no direct text entry for reply = easier and faster to whip out my phone. The real value add of the watch for me (outside of it looking cool) is viewing my messages (text and slack) and calendar reminders....and, of course, coffee time app that lets me use my watch as a starbucks card.
