Yeah, I thought that was strange. Also I never knew that there was a Breitling in the mix.

Breitling was featured heavily in Thunderball, just like Heuer was in The Living Daylights.

Not only did Bond wear the Breitling Top Time, but the Navitimer ref. 806 was also featured prominently. Domino's brother, who is a NATO pilot, wears the Navitimer. He's murdered and his look alike imposter takes his watch, the imposter is later killed off, left for dead underwater. Bond finds him, retrieves some key belongings including the watch and later gives the Navitimer to Domino.

Was the Heuer (oh I see we've decided it's definitely Heuer now) really heavily featured? I thought there was like 1.5 seconds of visible footage?

By heavily featured, I meant many of the characters wore Heuer in the movie, as @SteveP and @Snowy have helped to point out. Referenced here in the James Bond thread: https://tagheuerforums.com/threads/james-bond-007-thread.113840/page-5#post-1878428

General Pushkin wears a Heuer Airline GMT, the Heuer logo is clearly visible.

General Koskov wears a Heuer Titanium.

Henchmen Necros wears a Heuer Regatta.

Although the Heuer logo is not clearly visible, the broad shape of the logo seen on Bond's & Leiter's Night Diver indicates Heuer rather than TAG Heuer.

As much as I like the NightDiver, my top choice would have been the Omega Seamaster Spectre, which was not one of their contenders.

The Spectre is a good choice in terms of looks. But the way Bond got it off his wrist when being tortured seemed unrealistic. Gotta have some pretty fancy fingers to undo a NATO strap while locked into a chair with your brain getting drilled into at the same time. Lol.

Actually, I think the NTTD tied with the Night Diver given Adrian's & Andrew's comments. But George swayed things and claimed victory for his choice.

My fave would have to be the blue Aqua Terra Skyfall 38.5mm. Still a bit sad that left my collection and half have my eye out for another.

Adrian does make a good point about the Skyfall Aqua Terra in the video. It's also one of the few modern Bond watches released in a coveted 38-39mm size. Not since the Heuer Night Diver had a Bond watch been that small.

My favorite has to be the original, Connery's Submariner 6538, which was also 38mm. Daniel Craig actually owns one; I suspect it might secretly be his favorite too (although he'd never admit that, given his Omega connection).

    Bond Watch - Therapy Session

Fun follow up post-mortem discussion. Probably more entertaining than the actual podcast if one is a Bond fan, since they also talk about other things related to Bond besides watches. (But it's obvious to a Bond fan like myself that they're somewhat lacking in their deeper Bond knowledge. George gets the title of his favorite Bond movie wrong, says it's "You Only Live Twice" but from his description he really means "The Spy Who Loved Me".)

They address not talking about Rolex and interestingly also touch on the following things mentioned here:

I always thought Spy Who Loved Me was my favorite, until I watched it again a few years ago. Even though I was flat out on the sofa having just come out of hospital for a back operation, I remember lying there thinking 'this is terrible'.

The Roger Moore movies have not aged well IMHO. I have a hard time re-watching them, they're so cheesy and Roger plays the role like he's always winking at the camera. Moreover, many of his watches are digital - Seiko LCDs and a Hamilton Pulsar. The only one I like is his buzzsaw gadget Rolex Submariner 5513 from Live & Let Die.

I must say I agree, I always thought Moore was my favourite Bond because I was that age to see those films at the cinema, but actually Connery has aged much better.

Thanks for sharing this, I've been looking for a good watch related podcast and this has been fun to listen to!

Side note, any other recommended horology podcasts worth checking out?

Episode 5 is up. Even in an episode devoted to Rolex, Andrew & George can't help but bring some love to TAG Heuer. George tells a very interesting story of how and why he formed a relationship with LVMH & TAG. I have a better appreciation for his watches now. :)

Great episode, I love Bamford boy, very entertaining to listen to and despite being mega rich he feels somewhat down to earth.

Lets hope they dare to not only cover the most mainstream topics going forward, James Bond and Rolex feel like things that have been on repeat for a long time.

At first I felt George was a bit of a salesperson. But over time I appreciate his point of view. I am becoming a Heuer fanboy despite his appreciation of the brand.

I think he's both, but has a genuine affection for TAG. I wonder if George's & Andrew's constant gushing on TAG will have any affect on the haters?
