The marketing connection of this watch is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911's 1965 debut at the Monte Carlo Rally. Where it finished 2nd in its class, with the help of Heuer timers on its dashboard.

Very handsome but as mentioned, an easy pass at more than $10k. Maybe I’ll see what they go for in a year or two but I don’t really feel much of a pull.

That gorgeous box, though, that I want!

To add: I can’t wait to see how quickly this one “sells out” only to mysteriously be abundantly in stock everywhere you look, like the Seafarer is, sitting forlornly next to the gold-case silver Chronosprint.

Did you just get back from a quick runover to the Boutique to check these all out? LOL

I hear you on the price. But I don't think it's outrageous, at $1000 more than the standard white dial Chronosprint. Since it's a LE, including a bracelet & strap, and that gorgeous box set with the 911 Monte Carlo Rallye car.

Hell yes you know it! I was gonna go tomorrow since I have an appointment nearby, but saw an opportunity to run out today and took it 😀

The white Chronosprint was too expensive too, and now that they're trading sub-$5k they're more interesting. May see what happens to these new ones in a year or two.

This is the most convincing so far of the new glassboxes. Im still not convinced by the bezel thing, but it works better in this color scheme. Shame they’re sold out, I could be tempted at £6k.

This is my favorite release today. I like the colors chosen on this. Cool watch - tough price. As others have stated, will look at this in a few years on the secondary market. Hard to believe the prices that the white is trading.

The white 911 chronosprint isn't a LE though. The Blue Porsche 2.7RS is still holding its value and it's an older release, limited to 500.

Although this one will more likely trend like the Seafarer or Porsche 963 skeleton, which are limited to a similar amount of 9XX something.

I’m never convinced that LE status has much to do with used value. The 2.7 seems to be an anomaly, how do other LEs compare? The only ones I’m familiar with is the JH80, which has been ~£3k for the last decade.

For me it was love at first sight that I couldn’t resist. I liked the original case, function, and layout, but I wasn’t crazy about the color. This one is a home run.

Agreed. At the end of the day, it's really just about supply and demand.

But the JH80 may not be the best comparison. Wasn't the JH80 limited to like 3000 pieces? That's a lot. And wasn't retail about £4k? So its depreciation is not as bad comparing it to the white 911 Chronosprint.

Another example is the 40th Anniversary Monaco, limited to 1000 with a retail of $10k. It also held its value really well, until the CAW211P came along 6 years later. The first 3 Monaco 50th Anniversary watches, limited to 169 each, have also held up pretty well.

Then there's cases like the Hodinkee Skipper and Blue Dreamer that have appreciated considerably.
