I still can't get over the "patchy" overlayed ring in all the new glassbox Carreras. If this was truly part of the dial, I wouldn't mind, but because of this, the new glassboxes lose points.

That said, I am glad the new lugs are separated 1mm more than the heritage versions; this make a difference. Finally the height of the glassbox dome is much more subtle and the case feels slimmer.

If they made a true heritage glassbox Carrera, using the new case and dome, I think it would be the best yet of the modern re-editions.
Just noticed a similar sapphire dome glassboxy-edge on the new IWC Portugueser Eternal Calendar series. No patchy + severe curvy dial on the inside, however.

Yeah, @tcy148 also spotted the look on the IWC and the JLC Duometres. A number of video bloggers mentioned how TAG's new glassbox is being adopted by other brands. So it does seem to be a hit.

Wonder if Mr. Wonderful will end up buying one?
If he does it will definitely be the Red. Lol

I don't see the Monaco as a good investment so I'm guessing not.

They said 40 of those Monacos per year, and not limited edition, just limited production in that video. I hadn't appreciated that before. I would have thought at that price, they would be strictly limited.

Oh but I am sure they are limited by the number of people willing to hand over that kind of money to TAG instead of Patek.

Of course, so what they really mean is, they will make one for whoever wants one.

Being able to say "kinda limited" will at least help retain a high value on the secondary market 👍

Yup. I would imagine so...

Walked past Tag Heuer in Bluewater earlier, (think it's part of Beaverbrooks), none of the current glass boxes appeal to me at all, the new Panda just feels off.

Must say of all the watches on the display window the Pink Carrera looked the best

just remembered the Carrera Porsche edition. Red highlights was on display - Carrera x Porsche. It did look the pick of the bunch. Would just feel weird owning one and not a Porsche. (Many aircooled bugs in my youth but no Porsche)

Yeah, that's my issue with the Racing Orange Carrera...

the red outer seconds track and the unique, recolored printed Arabic hours numerals at 11 o’clock. This is a subtle, offbeat tribute to the first running of the Indy 500 in 1911, and even without this context this adds a racy, aggressive touch to the familiar Formula 1 layout.

With that said, many of the standard Formula 1 Chronograph’s divisive foibles are still here, including the potentially jarring white date display at 4:30.

Really. Is it though. It looks like 4 to me.

No doubt Max and Checo will be getting theirs at the Monaco GP. So they can stand tall next to the Ferrari & McLaren boys with their Richard Mille watches.🙄
Looks like Max is wearing a custom all black Rattrapante at the Monaco GP. But Checo is still wearing his Tron.
