Well, you know... the forum is pretty much divided into those who prefer Heuer (classic design, Monacos and tasteful Carreras) and those who prefer modern abrasive (possibly avant garde) design and bright colours. I could be wrong, but I would generally put you and Michael in the tasteful camp and myself very much in the modern/abrasive camp. The irony is that this Monaco is ultra modern, skeletonised, super abrasive and colourful and yet I strongly dislike it and you guys seem to like it, hence my comment.
Now I understand . . . I like many of the vintage models (and also dislike some), and it's the same for the newer TAG Heuer models . . . like some / dislike some.

I also believe that we should take a different approach in assessing a "halo" watch. These watches are not produced for the usual collectors, but for the media and the very limited number of collectors who have the budget and eye for these sorts of watches.

Same for me.

In the case of the Monaco Rattrapante, it's not my style at all, would never consider buying one even if I had that kind of silly money. However, it's TAG's passion project, meant to showcase their Avant Garde spirit and capability. So I've been trying to have a balanced view of it, rather than simply bash its looks and outrageous price. I'm a cup is half full kind of guy.

I've got a feeling they may turn it into a heritage glassbox maybe.
If this is true I will offer my local TH boutique full payment – sight unseen – no questions asked -- based on faith.

I'll even deal with the patchy bezel factor because it bothers me less on light colored dials.

So now with a new ceo, we are changing strategy yet again are we 😁 and the identity crisis of what TAG Heuer is continues

here we go vintage heritage again

Fingers crossed that the new ceo is able to turn the current glassbox into a good watch that it clearly has potential to become 👍👍

Wishful thinking or were you given some clue to indicate that?

I have my doubts that would be the reason, because the new Seafarer is based on the 42mm glassbox format. So they'd be starting from scratch again if redesigning for the 39mm heritage format, which I think would delay it even further.

If and when they do a heritage Carrera again, I'd really like to see a new thinner case with a plexiglass crystal (or another solution) to solve the distortion issue of the previous heritage glassbox.

What if they add a lot of silver?

We've seen some strong 42 mm Carrera releases over the last year and a half (examples include WoS panda, Team Ikuzawa, France LE, and CronotempVs CC). Wonder if we will see anything along those lines this year?

Don't forget the Chronosprint x Porsche. My personal favourite, although the others were all very strong too.

Nothing solid just wishful thinking.

To be honest I was surprised the Seafarer was a 42mm anyway, would make more sense in a 39mm case, since when it comes out everyone will be like 'Oh wow, this is amazing but it should have been 39mm'.

Some live shots of my favorites.

Finally found out why the 11 is a different colour.
It represents when the Indy 500 first started 1911.

Oh no, did the Scottish government have anything to do with it? They don’t know if they’re coming or going!

At least refreshing to see a blogger who isn't declaring everything to be brilliant and wonderful after being treated to free dinners, trips to Switzerland and early access to watches

Walked past Tag Heuer in Bluewater earlier, (think it's part of Beaverbrooks), none of the current glass boxes appeal to me at all, the new Panda just feels off.

Must say of all the watches on the display window the Pink Carrera looked the best
