I received mine earlier this week. I arrived to my nearest watchmaker too late (closed) to get the bracelet adjusted. I'm planning on going tomorrow. I have the black perforated strap ready to try, so that I can determine which option I'd like to go with.
Congrats @Hubert! Looking forward to your pics.

I think it looks equally good on both the bracelet and rally strap. I'd have a hard time deciding.

Thanks! Here it is, still with the protective plastics, since the bracelet is unsized.

Congrats Mate.
I prefer the Black Leather.
The bracelet looks great on the Skipper.

Just my taste, I'm the opposite. I don't care for the bracelet much on Skipper. I prefer seeing the Skipper on a strap. LOL

@Hubert & @Anthony.R - How does your new glassbox Panda stack up against the other Carreras in your collection?

I'm a big fan of the new Glassbox.
The Skipper just ahead of the Pamda for me.
It's made me want to get the Reverse panda now. For me the size is great.

Good. Next time I won’t be fooled by your Connected. 😁

I've always liked the reverse panda. It would make a nice companion to your new panda.

My Porsche Carrera S will be coming up on 20 years of ownership in a few years. I could either buy a new 911 to replace it or get this Monaco. Guess which one I'd choose? 🙄

Yeah no disrespect to the 992 (and eagerly looking forward to the 992.2 this summer) but frankly my answer there would be 'No thanks, I'll keep the 997 and buy 130k worth of other watches' 😁

I tell you, the trip I would have to the Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC boutiques with 130k to spend... oof.

It's clear where your priorities are at. 😉
Keeping my 997 is an option. I'll probably wait until I know what Porsche has planned after the 992.2 to decide. I want them to make the platform smaller.

I still can't get over the "patchy" overlayed ring in all the new glassbox Carreras. If this was truly part of the dial, I wouldn't mind, but because of this, the new glassboxes lose points.

That said, I am glad the new lugs are separated 1mm more than the heritage versions; this make a difference. Finally the height of the glassbox dome is much more subtle and the case feels slimmer.

If they made a true heritage glassbox Carrera, using the new case and dome, I think it would be the best yet of the modern re-editions.

Whilst I think they've captured the essence of the Carrera case on these new glassboxes, I don't think it's anywhere near as faithful to the original Carrera case as the previous glassboxes.

I like the grand tourer-like size of the 991 and 992 but I think any larger and it'd negatively affect the backroad-twistys fun.

Each has its Pros & Cons.

The key improvements I see with the new case are: (1) greater separation between the lugs, which makes the case look more proportioned and less bloated, and (2) thinner case, with a less protruded dome crystal, which mitigates the legibility distortions and makes the entire watch wear slimmer.

Dislikes: (1) patchy ring and (2) loss of the traditional bezel-less Carrera design; the 39mm watches look cramped that is why the 42mm variants look better. The original chapter ring design provided room, to make the watch feel bigger than what it was.

That's why I hope TH eventually will start re-issuing vintage editions sporting a new case that will feature some of the learnings they've had with the new design. Time will tell.

I second this.

The only real aspect of the previous glassbox that I have an issue with is that it does indeed wear quite thick. And the Heuer 02 watches are a shade thicker than the Telemeter/Cal 18 ones - it does make a difference sadly.

But I don't think the new 39mm glassbox cases could be used for a true heritage piece. Maybe, as you say, they'll learn and do another iteration at some point in the future. I also agree that the 42mm glassbox case models look the best proportioned (even if they are a shade big for me personally).

With the alleged success of the new glassbox, I doubt TH will do another faithful style vintage re-issue in the Carrera line anytime soon.

I mean they're basically doing reimagined re-issues with the new glassbox, touting inspiration from the 7753sn with this panda, the reverse panda (2447ns), Skipper, 1158chn tribute gold glassbox, Dato and upcoming Seafarer etc. I can't see them going back to the heritage glassbox in the foreseeable future.

Plus, they've got so many other models from Heuer back catalogue. E.g. Camaro, Kentucky, Easy Rider, Cortina, Solunar and much more. It would be fun to see modern interpretations of these brought to life, instead of yet another Carrera, Monaco or Autavia.

Having said that, I want TH to do a faithful re-issue of the Monaco 73633B (aka 3 register McQueen). The layout fits the H02/TH-20 perfectly.
