Times have been changing very fast. He may have reach and clout to his younger generation (that is able to afford a modern TAG Heuer) We might be out of touch with TAG Heuer’s intended target market for this one but it’s all about marketing where we know TAG Heuer shines.

TAG Heuer at the same time is banking on the Porsche owner clientele. A very passionate group (and also a group who can buy TH). If you own a Porsche, the next machine in your wrist “should” be TAG Heuer 😗 Not necessarily owners of 911s/718s. Look at the number of Taycans, Macans, Cayennes Porsche sell. That is a great target market. I just hope they maintain the Porsche Carrera font in their succeeding Carrera collaboration 👍
Well said. I'm sure Jaden must have many fans. Just not my type of ambassador that's all. I still prefer the old days when TAG had A-List movie stars like Brad Pitt.

I’m not assessing it as thick against other H02s, but thick against ‘size of watch I want on my wrist’. If this means I never buy a H02, I’m ok with that. I will probably try on an elegant to see how it feels before hunting down the blue carrera.
Better hurry up and try one asap, I believe the Blue will be completely sold out soon if they aren't already.

The Carrera Elegant is actually on the thinner side for a H02. It's 14.4mm thick. Still thick, but thinner than the Cal.1887 Carrera or H02 Autavia, which are both over 15mm in thickness. When I tried on the Carrera Elegant it felt like it wore a little smaller than a 42mm and its thickness didn't jump out at me like some other watches do.

Well I'm sorry but that subdial definitely looks silver. The dial looks white, right enough.....
The subdials do look silver in many pictures. But again, it's how light is reflected on the concentric circles of the subdials when hitting the metallic flakes. The rest of the dial surface is flat and reflects light differently.

Compare this Hodinkee picture to the two below. Here the subdials look quite silver on both the Red & Blue.

While in these 2 pictures (also from Hodinkee), not so much.

The concentric circles within the subdials will always have the affect of making them look a little darker compared to the main dial.

Blue Carrera was pretty hard to come by, but there should be 500 of them.

Where did it disappear to?
It's almost sold out in Japan.

Gold Carrera still seems to be in stock.

As usual, I'm sure a handful were gifted to VIPs like Patrick Dempsey, Jaden Smith and other celebs. Also, some amount gets pre-sold by TH Boutiques. Makes it harder for the average buyer to get a hold of one when officially released, since by then there's really less than 500 available for sale.

I don't know if the Blue was ever available on-line via the TH US website, whenever I looked it showed as "out of stock". I checked on Oct 5, first day of release, every so often after that, always "out of stock". The Red is available on-line.

I could've gotten one from my TH Boutique if I had really wanted the watch. I was told that they had only 30 blues in the US, which seems pretty low, so I figured it would sell out fast.

I'm also guessing since this is a Porsche collaboration, a number of watches might've been reserved for Porsche big shots in addition to the number TAG might normally reserve for VIPs. Making the total number for sale to the general public a little lower than usual.

You'd certainly imagine they would have contacted the (rich) people who owned those cars via the Porsche owners club to offer them first dibs... imagine you had a red one though and your watch was 2.5x the price of the blue.

Especially those who brought their cars to the launch in Paris. I wonder if Jerry Seinfeld got one, he owns a '73 white & blue Carrera RS 2.7 and is also known to be fond of vintage Heuers.

Then he's sure to love this 42mm mastrerpiece!

I think he would, but I don't think I've seen Jerry wear a TAG Heuer, just Heuer. He owns a vintage Siffert Autavia which also goes nicely with that car. When it comes to modern watches, he's a huge Breitling fan.

"Really?!" Season 2, Ep 5 - Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, features Seinfeld taking Seth Meyers out in his 911 RS 2.7. In that ep, he's wearing some black pvd watch on a green nato strap, I'd guess maybe a Porsche Design.

^Actually, that black pvd watch might be Jerry's Breitling Cosmonaute or his Lum Tec Combat B.

Just checked out Jaden Smith's IG account (@c.syresmith), he's got 19.2M followers. Compare that to Patrick Dempsey, who's got 6.6M. Yup, times they are a changing... 😒

^ Ugh. Some of these guys need a reality check on their attitude. He acts like being sponsored is so beneath him. Can't muster showing his face or crack a smile, like it would be so uncool. Oh please!

I wonder if all those watches worn by the celebs and influencers at the event end up being sold as new to poor schmucks like us.

I would 100% agree with this.
They only wear them for the event and hand them back at the end. I've witnessed this personally at an event.
