Oh yes, she's pretty much decided against the green now (As she does have the old one and it would be too similar) she's just waiting to see the red before she commits to the blue. I still think she should get the blue with the gold bezel, but it's a big premium to pay for the gold bezel and the steel blue (but not red) can be had at a discount...

I definitely think she should go gold then

I've noticed this at several TH Boutiques and also with other brands as well. Seems they want them to be on display with the hands always set to 10 & 2.

It is a watch myth...heard it started with Patek... 10:2 allegedly is a happy face and a smiling watch beats a watch that frowns but I think it's because it is symetrical and at the 10:2 all the branding is visible...alot of brands are shooting watches at 10:2

Yeah, I get that for photos, but having the crowns out like that is a bad idea, customers are far more likely to damage them.

I couldn't agree more but apparently we are more likely to buy ,if it is set to 10:2, although I had someone state the watch face looks more like Angry Birds

Trick is to push the crown in before handing it to a customer

But hey, we spend thousands to tell time less accurately, nothing about the watch world makes sense but here we are

Dates often set to the 8th, too. 😀
Some Boutiques seem to be fastidious about their watch presentations. Not only with the 8th date setting, but also always having the seconds hand in the same position opposite the minute hand. I've noticed this at other brand's boutiques as well, Omega in particular.

Just imagine, an Aquaracer crown being pulled in an out, screwed in and screwed out over and over and over every day until the watch is eventually sold to someone who soon sits at home wondering why the crown is a bit difficult to use 😁

I'd be willing to bet the reason for the date being set to 8 is its attraction in Chinese numerology.

Okay, so I heard now that the Superdiver is not going to be available on the orange rubber - which explains why it isn't on the website. Apparently, you now get the orange rubber when you buy it on the bracelet. Clearly it's hard to sell, which explains why it was one of only 3 watches that didn't go up in price this year.

By the way, did anyone notice the Night Diver went up by 15%? 😲

I noticed that too, it's up to $4100 USD. Both a TH Boutique sales person and one of my ADs said it's a very popular model.

It's been on my wishlist since its release. However given the worrisome Cal 5 movement and constant price hikes, I doubt I'll every buy one. My 35+ year old vintage quartz original keeps on ticking without a hitch.
