Nice write up David, serious question though - were the previous black PVD Monacos steel? I mean the AMC LEs... and the black Calibre 6?
That strap... I am in love. Anyone keen to crowd fund me
Two things from your article. You mention that TH calls this a "rubber look" alligator strap, what's up with that? I want my alligator to look like alligator, not rubber. But the strap does look nice.
The second point is how this watch is the panda version equivalent to the 10s Monaco 50's reverse panda, how right you are! I was thinking exactly the same thing based on the rumors I'd been hearing.
Overall this is a nice looking Monaco. But I really need to see live pics to assess whether I merely "like" it vs. really "love" it.
I'm not a Monaco person, but this is definitely one of the nicer ones. If I was in the market for a Monaco, then I think this would be third on my list, behind the classic blue McQueen and the 1970s green Côtes de Genève dial.
When you made that comment before, I thought you meant literally a red numeral 12, like how the Hourglass Monaco has a "12". Which obviously this one doesn't have.
Red on the 12 o'clock marker is no big deal and nothing new. Lots of Monacos have them, including the C11 Blue McQueen, 90's Monaco 50 & 10's Monaco 50.
Nice! This is a great combo! Silver Panda and Reverse Panda Heuer Monaco
You mean ACM - Autoclub de Monaco - and only one of them was DLC.
I really, really like this. Sadly, out of my price range. AUD11,400, if you want to add that to the article @Calibre11.
They were- steel with a titanium carbide coating
Yes, I don’t know exactly what they mean, but suspect that the leather us treated to give a more “technical” finish.
They look great together- perfect two Monaco collection
One in the metal
Some great photos- as always- from Monochrome: https://monochrome-watches.com/tag-...edition-caw218b-fc6496-hands-on-review-price/
That’s a really good looking watch. They are knocking it out the park at the moment
It gets the cool vintage inspired red box!!!
Oh my, that does look nice!
Yes, and yes, the nicer one. And also this which would be my prefered Monaco if it was 39mm
I find the Calibre 6 Monacos to be a bit of a quandry. The Monaco really should be a chronograph!
You should get one though so you can join the Monaco owners club.
I love it…I might like it even more if the red was more…red and less orange
