I need to see more real pictures, but if the price is what I think it is, probably not. TAG Heuer's renders of the green glassbox Carrera were horrible and did the watch a real disservice. It wasn't until real photos were posted that the true beauty of the dial could be seen. Many of these watches grow on me with time, so I don't want to rush to judgment on this one yet.
The green Monaco was still in stock on TAG's UK website up until a day or so ago (now shows as out of stock). The teal Carrera is still available as of now. So more time to think it over than a Hodinkee release certainly!
Yes, gives those that want a chance to get and that’s a good thing. The Monaco’s been out of stock for about that last 2 weeks when I’ve looked but maybe they’ve had a couple of returns or cancellations. a bit like me, everyone’s got a chance which is refreshing compared to other brands. They should be applauded for that I think
$7,900US for this one. $11,400AUD which is $2,200 on top of a CAW211P here in Australia. Not cheap and I think it may also be a limited edition or Special Edition even though it doesn't have any markings on the Caseback to identify it as such.
not too bad though and could have been worse. Let’s see. Looking forward to seeing it. given they are going to the effort of lightening the case (which in all honesty I don’t find too heavy anyway), it would have been great to see with a titanium bracelet also - albeit that may have pushed the price up a little.
This will be super light! My titanium casing on leatherstrap feels featherlight on the wrist. Sometimes I tend to forget I have a watch with me They did this with the Carrera & Aquaracer (Bamford), not too far fetched to use it in the Monaco. Next thing we know, we are already into precious metals with uber ridiculously high price TAGs
Someone may or may not have tried it on today Prob shouldn't share impressions until tomorrow, but what I can tell you is where you can buy not one, but two Monzas, brand new! The 2-reg “Time of Trip” one was always my favorite of these, though it’s smaller than I remember it being when I first tried one on 10 years ago
Is that white one for sale somewhere? One of these has vaguely been on my radar but there aren't many around.
Thank you so much! Good to see that you and the other geezers has kept the forum busy while I was away for a while. Hopefully I'll be able to look in here once every full moon or so. Yep, still owning the Nomos, and still loving it. Also rocking a Seiko Turtle (the "new" green one) and a Cartier Tank LC which is receiving the spa treatment for some weeks time. The pandemic wasn't very kind to me and I switched jobs to a "colleague in the industry". The move was probably better for my "career", but certainly not for my wallet. But I still keep up to date with the new TH releases! Not too keen on a Monaco in titanium and would have preferred to see one in some kind of ceramic alloy, but still exciting to see what we'll get.
Oh yeah like I said, they're still in stock at TAG's 5th Ave boutique. Not only can you get one, but it'll even have the factory warranty (Didn't ask about price but I bet it isn't 2011 pricing :/) Let me know if you want it and I can ask about it / help get it to you
