40th Anniversary, the "1st Victory Gulf" (R), and the 80s Red.
I think you meant (T) for the Gulf 1st Victory.

Ok, this text thing is not always easy to interpret 馃榾

I know... but since it's me just always assume sarcasm.

Apparently, this watch looks 'black' mostly... until you catch the light. So quite a different proposition to the other green dial TAGs of recent times...

Hi Guys,

long time lurker, but spend most of my time on the omega site and have several of those but my head has been turning in the Tag direction recently. I loved the orange F1 and equally think this is a beauty.

I鈥檝e managed to snag one of these last night on the Tag website. I saw it the other day and it said add to waitlist, but last night the option of adding to cart came up so went ahead and paid and have confirmation etc.

My daily wear is an Ed White, and I鈥檝e never owned a Monaco before but tried one on many years ago. I鈥檓 slightly concerned it might be a bit big, but they do a pretty good returns policy by all accounts.

looking forward to receiving it and will post some pics when it arrives.

one thing I likely will change will be the strap. I think a nice brown rally strap would set this off perfectly - much like the 70鈥檚 edition of 169.

anyway, this post is to say hello and I look forward to contributing here.

cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Nice seeing you here馃憤, I've tried the blue H02 when it first came out but found it too big for my 17cm wrist, although having the Carrera 360 with it being 15.8mm you would think i'd be used to it. As you said the return option is a comfort.

The green is lovely on this one, best of luck with deciding.馃嵖

Yes, it will be interesting. I figured the return option gave me a free hit. I鈥檓 not interested in flogging anything so if it鈥檚 not for me, back it will go but I do like a green dialled watch so we鈥檒l see

The GP has grown on me slightly over time. I had a fairly negative initial reaction it on first viewing. Given that between my father and I we have a 80s and 90s 50th ann. editions it is too close to the 80s to justify spending the money. I seriously thought about getting this green one but I鈥檝e but my money onto another TH product coming out soon instead.

That said - if green lantern had a watch the green Monaco would be it for sure!!

Great collection sir @Tavknack and welcome ! Calibre 11 is the Home of TAG Heuer Collectors & Enthusiasts! Again my profuse Thanks to sir @Anthony.R , I now have a Heuer Stopwatch also in the collection 馃憤

I have a red GR Yaris coming that would pair well with the 80s Monaco for colour! Maybe not so much for muscle car/racing heritage though....

I plan to put white wheels and Michelin Cup 2 tyres on it like this one in the photo. I have to wait another month or so to get it.

Congrats Steve and welcome to the forum! ::rimshot::
A brown rally strap will look great with that watch. You should actually be able to order the OEM 70's strap from your local AD for about $110 USD.

Well, it arrived. Could barely get it unpacked before grabbing the camera. Disclaimer, cell phone snaps...

Good first impressions - beautiful. To be honest, I would not call it a green dial but I'm not sure what to call it. The starburst effect is fantastic, mesmerizing. It's black. It's green. It's both. It's about light and angle and how you're interacting with it. Really something.

The sub dials are there, clear, usable, subtle, but allow a great amount of contrast to the hands. Captain Obvious here but much easier and legible than the classic white sub dials (personally always been on the fence for the blue for that reason).

Solid but alive, bold and modest...absolutely unique and different. A novel original of a classic. That's what I really like about it so far.

Best to all, M.

Wow congrats! Looks great

How do you think it wears compared to the slimmer c11 model?
