I saw that last night ... I did wonder if somebody is chancing their arm and seeing if they could sell one they might get. or was it just a fraud.. I have the Last Edition Calibre 12 , which I believe was a 1000 run.. That was just freely available and but from boutique
There still red/silver Monaco GP’s available in store and online in Australia. Seems they can’t sell them at retail over here plus 5 or so up on C24 that haven’t gone anywhere
If i had the choice i think i would have preferred this GP one to mine now i have seen both in the flesh...
The GP has grown on me slightly over time. I had a fairly negative initial reaction it on first viewing. Given that between my father and I we have a 80s and 90s 50th ann. editions it is too close to the 80s to justify spending the money. I seriously thought about getting this green one but I’ve but my money onto another TH product coming out soon instead. That said - if green lantern had a watch the green Monaco would be it for sure!!
The more of thes I hope so? The more of these that find their way to people who wear and appreciate them vice scalpers or C24 hounds the better. I remember how many people were upset from missing out on 50th ann. Editions made all the worse by the flippers.
Agree. Also it’s all through boutiques and online (maybe select AD only as well?) so very little other margin going to third parties
500 sold out? Maybe the first production batch? I hope it’s true though, would be a strong result for a watch that hasn’t received broad attention.
About these ADs... so I checked in with my AD to figure out the wait for a Starbucks sub. Turns out to be more than 10 years, so after the current model most probably. And I’m a customer there... at the same time I’m seeing +60 (!) bnib of these for sale on C24, for sale for double the retail So either these guys are seriously good a scamming ADs out of these watches or something else is going on. Maybe something involving ADs making a little more than standard retail margin?
Where I live AD's sell new steel Rolexes between each other to up the margin. One sells it at retail and the other lists it as "pre-owned" at a high markup. Then the other way around...
? Not making this stuff up, often these "used" watches have the current year as sales date and you can see warranty stamped by the other AD. All they need is a couple of "middle man" individuals doing the purchase and sale to avoid it being a transaction directly between the stores.
I'm a firm believer that the "Green McQueen" Men's Club Japan Edition is still THE best green Monaco. Now if only I could find one. With only 100 made, they're not exactly easy to find - and definitely not inexpensive when you do fine one!
40th Anniversary, the "1st Victory Gulf" (T), and the 80s Red. Edit: Fixed the Gulf Reference letter to be (T). Thanks @Mspeedster
