·Sometimes I think that they do this to enable sneaking out more pieces to the market, who would notice right. Maybe I should not be so cynical.
I don't think they would do that, but it's obviously 'cheaper' to have 1000 backplates that are all the same, rather than individually numbered.

·Surely they could have just had a n engraver mark each case? although this probably would have opened up the fake market, easier to add whatever number you see fit.
