Apparently there is no inscription on the watch that indicates the limited edition of 500 pieces, in my opinion there will be more than 500 pieces of this watch, they will say ... "due to the success we will make a circulation of 500 or more pieces" .
You may well be right. I’ll confirm the case back for sure this morning, but everything I’ve seen points to what you say. Mine is arriving.

I liked the regular version so much I’m thinking this might be a bit subtle, but we will see. Hurry up postman!

I’ll go a step further, I can’t remember any inscription at all - not even a limited or special edition script without numbers etc. I’m happy to be wrong, it would be a shame if there’s nothing on it to signify the rarity. I hope it ends up coming in unique box or something

It does come in a unique box. See my posted pics on the previous page: https://forums.calibre11.com/thread...d-edition-cbl2116.130624/page-12#post-1776762

Oh….. I thought I read after your post that it was just a holding pattern for the real boxes to come through. I was hoping to see something more specific to the watch? The red racing Monaco had the inscription inside the box and the red was essentially colour coded. I mean damn, even the cal 16 all green formula 1 got a colour matched box….

Further to the above - it’s a watch that is supposed to be twice as rare as the Monaco GP red…. Still an amazing watch and you don’t wear the box - just was hoping it would come in some wicked green and black number.

Exactly the same with the new Titanium Monaco..on the caseback there is nothing to say limited edition.

Titanium Monaco

Say what.... a titanium Monaco.... bloody hell. That would be amazing and ruddy expensive, no doubt.

Yeah it’s not cheap but it’s very nice though. I think it’s at least an equal to the 2010s 50th anniversary in terms of aesthetics - at least to me.

Nice.

Many people complain about the relative heft of the Monaco so making one out of titanium would solve that issue.

Well, it’s here. The dial is lovely. Quite subtle but pops when any form of light hits it. Very nice.

the clasp however is very uncomfortable and very sharp where it contacts the wrist. The strap is not that supple but nice although the piece at 6 o’clock is quite long so it bulges off the bottom of my wrist. I have to push more strap through the deployant on this than the one in the AD also.

I’m going to give it the afternoon indoors to see how I get on with it and then decide. No doubt the centre piece of this watch is the dial, and it’s extremely well done.

There are some manual models that came in these rather lovely boxes too.

Would've been the '70s "budget" versions still in the cushion-case style, though, no? Think these boxes were 1969 or so.

Yeah but this is the least racing inspired Monaco since uhm EVER

Point taken, you're right. I hadn't thought about that but it is kind of a weird matchup really

From what I've heard, in the US not a major price premium actually.

Very nice indeed 👍 These look really good in real-world shots, I have to say.

Thank you! I'm supposed to be 4th on the national waiting list.

I hear you; but it will remain a cherished collectible if I get it.

Not quite, but it certainly gets lots of bonus points!
What made you change your mind?

Well we may not share the watches but must share something in the Sony collection, look like my remotes! I have the strap on my McQueen the ‘wrong’ way on but feels better on my wrist, before I actually made the change I wore the watch the wrong way to get a feel for it.

I thought it's supposed to be around $7900 for the titanium, have you heard different?

Good spot! I’ve got mainly Sony things.

i have to say, it’s quite uncomfortable. the clasp is (in my opinion) not great at all. It’s sharp as anything at lots of points and I’ve got red marks on the bottom of my wrist where it’s been catching/pinching.

I’m unlikely to be able to send it back having worn it for an afternoon, but don’t really want to be limited to wearing aftermarket straps. unfortunately you can only gauge the clasp sharpness and lack of comfort by trying the thing on and wearing it for a while.

I’ll sleep on it and think about what to do. It’s a shame as aesthetically I like the watch.
