If they made three identical Aquaracers in 100m 200m and 300m ratings and they price saving was decent I would take the 100m. It's more than I'd ever need since the wettest it would ever get would be splashes from washing my hands.

That hexagon-pattern on the caseback of the upcoming AR reminds me of something. Could it be the revival of the carbon hairspring?
You gotta wonder why TAG Heuer insists on that atmospheric diving helmet logo for the AR given a depth rating of only 300m (200m even for the later release). So many dive watch brands out there but what sets TAG Heuer apart is the racing, water sports, Red Bull angle to it. They aren't dive watches but water sports watches. Choose a fitting logo no?

in their defense, they probably would be more meticulous with the water resistance for the higher ratings. Better o rings. more precision. I don't think I'd stick to 100m. at least 200m to be on the safe side

Will we find out tomorrow??

I honestly don't know. I just heard some rumors a couple months ago - could even not be happening this year for all I know. All I'm saying is, the idea has at least been considered though

In the preview folder there are models with 200m but I think those will be released late 2021/early 2022. The ones presented today most likely 300m. The caseback preview in social media shows a caseback saying 300m right? My guess is that the 43mm will be 300m and the new 40mm will be 200m.

The iron man suit might indicate 300m or deeper, Yes.

otherwise maybe they will replace the helmet with biking helmet.

because 200m is kinda a bullshit number lol. It doesn't really mean as much as people think it means. As yago mentioned, you really shouldn't be taking them anywhere but a pool. Would you trust a 30m water resistant watch, for diving? After all, most people don't go anywhere near 30m. Hell, how about 10m? That's still deeper than the casual diver or snorkeler, but 10m would be low on even a $10 watch. The numbers are just meaningless really. Even the most basic watch has numbers that are deeper than most anyone will go, yet we've all seen how quickly those watches go bad from just hand washing.

Remember that static and dynamic pressure are not the same, so a 10m watch would be fine at 9m deep (provided you didn't move it or the water) but you can easily achieve greater than 10m of pressure on a watch falling off a jet ski or windsurfer at speed despite only being inches below the water.

They should really come up with a better way of rating watches for water resistance, it's not surprising the uneducated think a 30M watch is fine to swim in is it?
