Nice write up David, interesting that the dial isn't as white as the quartz version. Do you know how the back comes off the new Aquaracer? I am intrigued since it doesn't have any lugs for tooling?

One minor point, the 2018 night diver does have lumed hour markers:

 

Sorry, not keen on the stripes, prefer the Heuer original, especially that rare olive 981.113. Am pleased to be able to boast a fine 982.113, renovated with original parts - I must have grabbed one of the last OEM bezel inserts

 

So the new one doesn't have a lumed bezel either.....

 

So cool, if one wants a full lume TAG I think the 2018 model is the way to go

 

Looks 100x better in the metal, I need to figure out how to photograph this properly. It seems to have about 3 stages of lume, first the hands and 3/6/9/12 start glowing, then the bezel and hour markers glow and the dial is a faint green, then finally the dial is bright green and you can use it as a flashlight

The hands and 3/6/9/12 are super sensitive, so they quite often have a blue hue when the watch has been in daylight and the rest still looks monochrome.

 

On instagram it looked lumed in some shots?

Seriously what clown designed the TH website? Every time I go there it annoys me how you have to go past the picture to get the lume shot and when you scroll back up it reverts to no lume. F.F.S.

yeah, but the outline loom triangle is really smart! I do like the lume triangle with a non-lumed pip on mine, it’s a nice interpretation of the traditional triangle/pip.
