BTW: I like it. Especially the silver dial version. In contrast, the tribute “thingy” does nothing for me...

It's funny, it just shows what a waste of time renders are, I was under the impression that these were going to look 'sharper' than the old models - whereas they actually seem soft around the edges. I quite like the overall look of the silver one, but not the details

    yeah they kept those, strange...
You could argue it's recognizable for the AR, given the bezel. But the bezel has 12 facets, the hour markers 8 and the caseback miniatures 6

4250 euro for an 844 piece LE of a calibre 5 AR... don't know about that one.

Dont you guys think that the 844 tribute would have made more sense in the 40mm case? Without doubt this release must be aimed towards vintage nerds and those surely will not buy a 43mm diver?

Maybe they are in competition with Tudor of who can put as many different shapes as possible in one dial?

The Monnin has a 42mm case, massive in its day, so makes sense that way.

It seems they added polished chamfers on all case edges making them look more rounded than the previous model. This will have to be experienced in the metal.

I for one like the new style especially in blue, although wish the cyclops could be removed. Might wait to see if they release them in 41mm

Sweeeet BB58 seems to be my comfortable size.

Wearing the 44mm Pam all week (realise anything over 42mm is just uncomfortable)

Just noticed the Monnin tropic strap has octagonal holes, that's a nice detail.

Reminds me of that YouTube video where that guy says about all the hexagons in the Lamborghini.

Careful now, you're starting to sound like me :D
Not sure who will buy this one to be honest. The pilot hands also take getting used to.
Other details about the case I like. The crown and guards are a big improvement. I expect the upcoming 40mm with classic hour markers will be quite compelling.
