That was quick! Someone hated their watch and sold it fast

Happens. Follow enough dealers and you see this pretty often actually. Strange behavior to me, but hey - some people don't seem to mind losing money like that. (Those watches are usually traded for something else anyway though)

Went into an AD at Innsbruck today. No new ARs on display but the sales guy was kind enough to bring out the only one they received so far and had already been sold.
Must say looks a lot better in the metal than I expected. The finishing is better than the previous model. Still not a fan of the hour markers but hardly noticeable. Looking forward to the 40mm launch. I did immediately notice the date wasn’t centered in the cyclops. Upon further inspection it was obvious the cyclops wasn’t positioned in the center. I wouldn’t accept that.

What the heck, that is terrible! Lets hope the poor fella who ordered it refuses to bring it home. In the photos it does look way off but I figured it was the angle...

Very worrying quality control. Lets hope we dont see much of similar issues with this new generation

Simply a misallignment of the crystal. Easy fix but necessary.

That cyclops doesn't do it for me. I'm sure it would look just as good, if not better, without it!

^ This made me concerned for my 844. Guess I'll find out in SEP. 😵‍💫

You had your share of unluck with the dato dial. I can feel the gods saying that your 844 will be perfect.

This is when my lack of actual knowledge is exposed. How do they attach the crystal? Does it run "freely" in a circle and the machine has to align it perfectly every time for every watch? I would've guessed there was some sort of built in fitting holding thingys to ensure it is correctly positioned, if you understand what Im thinking

Yes, I've always wondered how they line up the cyclops... I assume the crystal usually moves freely, since if there's no cyclops there's no reason for it not to.

My local AD Burrells has the slver dial one on show. Looks nice in person, but not handled in person yet. Have a soft sport of the Aquaracer line up and I like the 'originality' that Tag do (not another Sub clone). But would be more interested in the 40mm versions as previously mentioned. But unsure if having another dive watch is needed as the BB58 gets most wrist time, and my rule of 1 watch by 1 brand would be broken - Monaco is the Tag i really want.

Looking forward to the 40mm launch.

Latest word on the forum here (may have been earlier in this thread) is that the 40mm models will all be quartz though :/

Hopefully not the case but we'll see.

I do remember that, but thought 40mm was having both options - one calibre 5, 1 quartz (hope not - only quartz I want is my Arnie)

I really hope so, or at least that there'll be no-date variants of the 43mm model at least.

The blue and black 40 will be automatics. Or have you gotten some news I have missed?
