Why is it always the best looking watch that's limited edition? It makes no sense really...

"surprisingly the lume pip has gone, which is a worry really as again that's one thing that was a good indicator of authenticity"

This had not crossed my mind at all that the lume pip is gone 😲 @jamesbizs what the hell are we going to do now??!!

I know what you mean. It somehow looks cheap.

TAG Heuer's Carrera bracelet prior to the H-bracelet had a similar appearance.
🙁 seamasters have always had my favorite bracelet.

That did not cross my mind either... We will have to see what mistakes they make with these newest models.

I just noticed the silver watch you photographed seems to have polished metal hour markers whereas in the official TH photos it has black markers. Might be the light in your photos.
Correct- not sure which one is final

Purists always love the last generation. Also with Porsches, except the 996 ;-)
Maybe we are corksniffing purists ?
Kind of liked the silver one.
Also hope they do not mess up the F1 launch later this year.

"TAG Heuer is supposed to be 'avant-garde' which by it's very definition means 'experimental, radical or unorthodox and is frequently characterized by aesthetic innovation and initial unacceptability'. "

This is very true and spot on in my view!

I feel the new design looks more vintage or classy than the last generation, but on the same time integrating elements not to be found on any other watch before. The octagon hour markers may be an affront to some, but they give the watch unique character. Maybe they are still under the influence of Mr. Biver to be "first, different, unique." Besides I believe the play of light on the hourmarkers might be very different from round shapes.

Enjoyed the read! Nice one 😀

Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it! Was a bit of a rush to get it done around work commitments, but I think it worked out okay in the end.

The tool-dive watch category is an extremely tough and competitive segment. Majority of the Swiss watch brands have something to offer. Still embodying the “Six Feature” philosophy of TAG Heuer up to the present, I believe this is where the Aquaracer stands out (thus the hexagon - dodecagon allusion) 😉 In a way, TH is trying to make these as their “trademark” design language.

Having owned several TAG Heuer Aquaracers with different designs, dials and calibers, I believe TAG Heuer has made an evolutionary package with this latest “avant-garde” and a step to the right direction. As long as the price segment remains competitive, the Aquaracer will always be the “accessible & reliable dive watch” Like the TAG Heuer Formula 1, the Aquaracer is the entry-point of most WIS into the endless world of Time & Watches.

Almost sounds a cliche that the Aquaracer is “my first watch”, but reality is such to many including me 👍 The TAG Heuer Aquaracer line-up is the only model without any “motorsport-racing” pedigree although “racer” is conveniently placed in its name 😉 The two models that has made a big impact to me the most as a TH enthusiast are the TAG Heuer Aquaracer & the TAG Heuer Carrera ::psy::::psy::

So 12 min 58 sec long video and not one single word about the movement or precision. Just fluffy marketing terms like sporty, elegant, "the edge", heritage, an icon.

Would be nice to know if the standard issues with the crown tube has been upgraded to something that will work longer than a couple of years.
