I found it:

WOW
what a load of crap from TH... "Dont leave in charge"... how the hell a person can set a normal routine, if he cant even wake up to a fully charged watch.
i think that was a defect they "maybe" fixed.
personally never had the issue, i would NOT expect something like this to ever be an issue. TH cant expect to ask customers to NOT leave on charger for more then 2 hours.
what, if i get home late, tired i have to charge my watch and put an alarm clock to wake up in 2 hours to remove it only to wake up to a not fully charged watch lol

I don’t know, but after this warning, I charge it before going to sleep, or when I wake up.... or up to 80% before going to sleep, and the rest when I wake up. It’s enough to leave home with 100%

Anyway no problems here with that red tint when screen is white or deep black 👍

I found it:
That’s OLED burn-in due to a defective display, nothing to do with long charges.
They told him that stupid thing because they didn’t want to admit that the screen was faulty.

Yup, this is probably true. Mine is not even close to that bad, and only seen in a pitch black room, even then most people wouldn't notice. My 45 was on the charger from like 3 months while using the LV and Summit 2. This issue was there before this and has not gotten worse.

Because, for instance, this another site (not from Pakistan) is saying the same: AMOLED is not the same as OLED.
Regardless of theory, here we are discussing the screen quality of Gen 3 vs Gen 2.
I’ll give you evidence.

Yes, of course Gen3 screen (1.39” with 326ppi) has to look better than Gen2 M45 screen (1.39” with 287ppi), because it has same resolution of Gen2 M41 (1.20” with 326ppi), but with the 1.39” size.

But my point was about the quality/technology of the chosen screen, because moving from AMOLED to just OLED (and everywhere is written that AMOLED is more expensive than OLED, because it’s an evolution of OLED) seems another cost-cutting movement (together with steel vs titanium, China vs Swiss Made, non Modular system, non “Connected to Eternity” future proof program, less customization options with 4 versions vs 56...) that has not been reflected in the final price of the watch

I’ll show you that it’s not true.

More proof that TAG hates their customers.

Garmin: lets make a great fitting proprietary band change system, and also allow non Garmin bands ( holes to remove spring bar)

TAG: lets make 3 generations of connected watches that all take different straps. Oh, and for the third gen, lets put spring bars in there that are near impossible to remove. Yeah F our customers.

I just got my Watch today and on close inspection I think the Bar can be removed and then a 22mm band will be ok. Looks like the bar pops into a hole on each side. It also seems to have some "give" in it. I'm nearly tempted to have a go at removing.
Cheers Guys

The bar could be removed, but will have to most likely be damaged to get out, seems TAG designed it so once it's in it's almost impossible to get out. This was deliberate

Yes, this is true: the smallest diesel engine for A-Class and B-Class, “180 d” version, is made by Renault. So if you want a real Mercedes, you should buy at least the “200 d” engine.

But don’t worry Jim, this Renault cutting costs agreement is only for the smallest engines of the entry level A-Class family (A, B, CLA, GLA, GLB). From the second level included (C-Class family) and up, all Mercedes are real Mercedes-Benz 😉 👍

CLA 200 has also Renault 1.5 litre engine. 136hp. And has also AmG styling version with that hairdryer engine.

CLA 200 has also Renault 1.5 litre engine. 136hp. And has also AmG styling version with that hairdryer engine.
In fact new CLA 200 has a 1.332cc 163hp, and CLA 180 has same 1.332cc but with 136hp. This 1.3 engine has just two parts made by Renault (block and engine head), and all the rest is Mercedes, and this engine also has distribution by chain like all the Mercedes engines. So this one is much less Renault (we could say 20%) than the 1.461cc diesel and 116hp from the A 180 d and B 180 d. We could say this 1.5 diesel engine is 80-90% Renault, and it has distribution by belt.

We can find these 180 and 200 1.3 petrol engines only in the entry level A-Class family (A, B, CLA, GLB, GLA), so to get one of these entry-level Mercedes with a 100% Mercedes engine, you need to go for a 2.0 petrol engine (220, 250, AMG 35, AMG 45, AMG 45 S - from 190hp to 422hp), or for the 2.0 diesel engine (200 d, 220 d - from 150hp to 190hp).

About these little 180 and 200 1.3 petrol engines for the entry level A-Class family, I would go for a 200 d 2.0 diesel version instead, not only because 200 d is 100% Mercedes, but because being a 2.0 has much more torque and it feels much more powerful with 150hp than the 1.3 petrol engine with 163hp. Moreover 200 d (and 220 d) has a 8spd auto gearbox vs the 7spd of the 1.3 petrol versions.

Sorry for the off-topic! 😟 I hope this info could help if some of you is interested in one of these members of the A-Class family! 😉

Thanks for letting us all know that it is, in fact, possible. Two questions:
- Did you break the original pin?
- Did you break the warranty too? 😀

More proof that TAG hates their customers.

If the idea is to do that for all their product lines then it is fine. But it is hard to believe to be honest.

Back to my frustrations with TAG that might be different to yours about Gen 3 and its specs, but I'm looking at this from the business point of view.

How come this advertisement is ever possible for an established, luxury business?

- Just one picture like this (no back, front, full length)
- No measurements
- No specified Autavia models
- Presumably no buckle (but no mentioning)
- Literally nothing

And the same on the Omega's webpage.

I have official information about the technical specs of the Connected 2020 vs Modular 45.
Due to confidentiality reasons I can only write them down here, without publishing the original source.

@Albert-AMG I hope now you stay calm with the screen quality... 😉

Gen3 price is not lower at all than Gen2:
Gen2 titanium case and rubber strap: 1400€
Gen3 steel case and rubber strap: 1700€
Gen3 titanium case and rubber strap: 2.250

Due to confinement at home 🤦, I had time to check the prices of Gen2 M45, and I think the info I posted was not complete enough to really compare the prices of Gen3 vs Gen2.

Yes, it was correct that price of Gen2 M45 started from 1400€ (Grade 5 titanium case, rubber strap) while Gen3 starts from 1700€ (steel case, rubber strap), but that basic Gen2 had steel bezel (vs ceramic bezel in Gen3), so in order to have a better comparison, I think it’s better to add more options, and then the price increase of Gen3 looks not so high:

-Gen2 M45 grade 5 titanium case, rubber strap, steel bezel: 1400€
-Gen2 M45 grade 5 titanium case, rubber strap, ceramic bezel: 1650€
-Gen3 steel case, rubber strap, ceramic bezel: 1700€

So if we have both Gens with black ceramic bezel, Gen3 price is still higher than Gen2 because it’s steel and not titanium case, but not so higher

If we look at the price of the black titanium versions, the comparation is also difficult because Gen2 M45 black is “Grade 5 titanium with black titanium carbide coating”, while Gen3 is “Grade 2 titanium DLC”. Grade 5 titanium is slightly more expensive than Grade 2 titanium, but I don’t know whether their respective black coatings/treatments are similar in price or not. Anyway:

-Gen2 M45 black grade 5 titanium, calfskin strap (not available with rubber strap): 2150€
-Gen3 black grade 2 titanium, rubber strap (not available with calfskin strap): 2250€

So when we talk about the black titanium versions, Gen3 is also more expensive (moreover because it comes with rubber strap instead of calfskin strap), but it’s maybe closer to Gen2
