I bought one many years ago when it was cheap at around $400US I bought it in Japan so don’t know the exact price in USD but it was a expensive , I remember that.

It was AU$460 when I bought mine in September 2017. I thought the price was actually very reasonable given that the Carrera H-link bracelet is north of $600.

They want $18,000 and then they want to charge you $97 for carriage!

They're launching basic 50th anniversary watches with stock parts, a new lick of paint left and right but nothing truly exciting. Not even a stock 02... Cost saving you might say? Yet they're spending 100s of 1000s if not millions on these glamorous launch events.
Jack Heuer didn't spend millions to market mediochre watches. He broke in F1 with great timepieces, timing technology and dirt cheap but clever marketing. Are we still in it for the watches? LVMH sure isn't.
