We all know the story. It was extravagant, gigantic, almost unwearable and quickly shelved. Only decades later would it get traction, courtesy of a huge marketing budget and McQueen (and thus the Monaco) rising to cult status. Had Mcqueen worn an Autavia on set it might have gotten the praise it actually deserves. Although I do agree the Monaco is more photogenic, just look at those posters. Not dissing the Monaco but without McQueen there just isn't any racing heritage there. For the record, I do love the Monaco
