But, unfortunately, it has been hit in the face with an ugly stick.

Considering your taste in watches, I'd say that's a high compliment! 😜

Go check 'em out in person, they're really nice

Yeah I think the WAK Aquaracers mainly were notoriously known for the crown/stem issues and with that model you have to expect fixing it every second year or so.

Mine was fine for about 4 years, until I left it on the bathroom windowsill for a month, think it got a bit of damp in there and corroded. Stupid of me.

One would think with a name like Aquaracer it could withstand a month of being in a little damp place. 🤦

On the face of it you would think I would like them, given their modern aesthetic. But they look like they're trying way too hard with those ridiculous laser cut dials... plus Omega fan bois are only one step down from Rolexistas.

I thought so too about the dials until I gave in and bought one. It's actually fantastic - doesn't go overboard the way TAG's new Aquaracer dial does. Most of the time it just has a deep, almost lacquer-like black but then every now and then the light will catch the waves and it comes alive. I really do recommend taking a solid long look at them in person.

As for fanbois, it's nowhere near! Rolex people are absolutely insufferable especially with the "investment" angle. Omega people tend to be more into the watches themselves rather than the status symbol aspect

Yeah you're right... Rolex fanbois are the absolute worst.

As is Rolex with their supply strategy.

I want to participate in this scientific study on the Cal 5 📖. I have an Aquaracer WAY201B, bought in 2016, running fine until 2020. The watch is still working ok, however there was an intermittent click during winding and also faster by 7-8 SPD not sure if this two is related 👎. Sent it for service at TH, afterward it is running ok until now with -2 / +4 SPD 😀.

Sounds like the mainspring may have broken, don't think it's related to the reversing wheel issue though. Sounds like your watch is doing just fine 👍

I wonder if someday Tag Heuer will use G100 from LJP and how it will compare to SW200.

Certainly looks interesting plus can still use the "swiss made" label with this movement.

On completely different topic, i tried the Seiko NH35 for many months now, and i am quite impressed. I was very very skeptical at first but it was exceeding all my expectations. Maybe i am just lucky. I haven't got my 2nd piece of NH35 (soon maybe?) But i don't mind NH35 movement for now definitely.

I've only had one watch with an NH35, and it kept better-than-COSC time (we're talking less than -2s/d, no joke). I was truly, truly impressed. Excellent movement.
Only (very minor) issue with it is that it's a bit thick - so it's suited for divers but not really dress watches.

And what was that watch?

A micro, have to think on the name. (Have since sold it on)
It was one of those semi-customizable brands, where you can choose a few options for the dial, bezel and hands.

And what was that watch?

Found it, had to look at the sales post I put up on Reddit lol.

It was a Mint Evolutive (https://mintevolutive.com/) diver:

I bought it in the immediate aftermath of my watches being stolen, since the only watch I had left was the steel-and-gold Speedmaster Apollo XI 50th I was wearing that Friday, and I needed something casual and beater-y. This fit the bill as it was no-date, 40mm and only cost something like $300, and had a nice Black Bay look to it (this was before the BB58 Blue). Great watch, but as I started adding more divers I just didn't need it anymore. Definitely recommend as a beater though!

Hi Guys

I'm so glad I found this thread.
My Calibre 5 Aquaracer, WAY201A, keeps stopping.

I can wind it, and get a day or so of wearing it before it stops again.
I never take it off. Even a good shake of the wrist in the mornings doesn't help.

I've wore it for 2 years without issue and now the warranty has expired.

I'm not a watch expert but have read about issues with this movement.

What is the best way to get it fixed and how much is this likely to cost?

All feedback is appreciated.

Any watchmaker should be able to help - the upside of this off-the-shelf movement TAG uses, is that it is extremely common and parts are readily available to just about anyone. Shouldn't cost much, since it sounds like the mainspring just needs to be replaced.

My WAY2112 calibre 5 Aquaracer broke about 10 months into it's ownership.
The movement had got really hard to wind.
Tag Heuer UK fixed it but didn't tell me what the problem had been.
4 1/2 years later and I'm again having trouble with the movement and winding.
It's a beautiful looking watch but brittle.
I also own a 2008 F1 alarm that's had a new movement, crown and stem, and a 1988/1989 2000 professional that is bullet proof

That seems to be a theme
