Will your Aquaracer break? A shocking scientific study on the calibre 5

A new shocking scientific study published by H.W.R.M.E (Horological Watch Research Mega Experts) shows that 43% of calibre 5 Aquaracer owners will get a problem with the movement! Four buyers out of seven report that their Aquaracer has in fact had an issue with the movement.

A group of mega superb scientists joined the group of researchers and set out on a mission to find out whether longtime rumors were true or not, do all calibre 5 Aquaracers get issues with the movement? To answer this question, real actual owners got involved in the project to share all the data and input needed for the science analysis to be conducted.

Research leader Pope Jimbo scientifically comments on the science research report:

"Yes these are truly worrying numbers. We long suspected this to be the case but I am very pleased that for the first time ever we are able to show the actual science. I am however glad to see that more than half of the Aquaracers sold will not break, this is a lot better than some of us thought. Since the Aquaracer is a cheap entry level watch it makes a lot of sense that about 40% of the pieces will soon have a broken movement."

The science* of H.W.R.M.E is brought to you by the Church of Silver Dials. The Church of Silver Dials - Happiness guaranteed.

Big thanks to the research group, special thanks to Dr. DTF, Professor ASW, PHD Aqua-G and Science Expert Remo. Without your hard work and engaged contributions, this scientific science would not have been possible.

*may not actually be science or statistically proven or correct.

We discussed this during the research trials too and our guess is that most of them break around month 25-27, hence TAG offering a 24 month warranty makes perfect sense both for them and their customers. Point being that TAG service centers can make good money on fixing these when warranty has expired.

What's your sample size?
Charlie, whats with the hostile attitude? Are you anti science? Please respect this scientific science that we have scientifically worked so hard to provide.

Obviously on the payroll of Big Chrono to discredit and silence any investigation!

Aren't real scientists supposed to welcome critical review of their research?

Not sure if you actually spoke to any owners, but so far the only Cal 5 TAG I've had (the Drive Timer) had the rotor issue as well. Other than that it was OK, didn't keep great time but it was cheap.

I never looked closely to try to figure out if mine was the 2892 or the SW200, but other SW200 watches I've had have had rotor issues as well.

The numbers presented are 100% based on statements from actual owners

I can vouch for that! I was one of the 'consultees'.

Sorry to harp on, but I'd still like to know the sample size.

Honestly if it weren't for the much nicer case on the new Aquaracer it'd be pretty easy to dismiss for still using a fairly basic SW200. But they did do a really nice job overall...

I guess I was lucky, mine broke at around 5 months. Of course, I expect it to break at any moment, at which point I'll replace the calibre 5 movement with a quartz and become connected to eternity, or at least as long as you can buy CR2320 batteries

You know you're dealing with a quality product when you consider yourself lucky that it broke after five months

You know, we must be really really really stupid to spend like a month or more's wages on something that we know isn't really very good. But like I say, you know... buy quartz and live a stress free life. It may have no soul, but it will probably work for 30 years without being touched.
