Which Monaco to buy?

Hi all. New to the forum, but I've been reading it for a few weeks now, trying to decide on which Monaco to purchase. I'm still confused!
I've been looking to buy a Monaco in readiness for my 55th birthday coming up. Birthday/retirement gift to myself.
These are the two options I've got, both at list price, and possibly tax free.....
I know the Bamford is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love high tech stuff! There may also be the possibility of a Monaco 24!
Confused? Very! Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

I believe the red 80s Monaco is sold-out. Are you planning to buy one second hand?

Thanks for the welcome. Both of the above are available from a TAG Boutique! The red one was reserved, but the guy decided not to purchase on sight! now it's reserved for me! As is the Bamford, until I decide which one I prefer. I'm close to just buying them both!!

Excellent! Secure the red, but if you can get both, then even better!

Thanks Hubert, I'm visiting the boutique this afternoon, so I'll let you know how I get on, and how many I've bought!

Very nice birthday gift to yourself and I'm also envious that you can retire at 55.

They are both very nice, the Bamford was an acquired taste for me. My initial reaction wasn't so positive, but now I rather like it, so it's grown on me. I absolutely love the red dial Monaco 50 and that would be my choice over the Bamford. But I'm with Hubert, buying both is a win/win!

Also, which Monaco 24? If it's the Gulf, buy that one too! 😉

Both it is then!!! Haha
It may end up as semi retirement as my hobbies are too expensive!
I don't think they had a Gulf unfortunately. Off we go.... wish me luck!

I thought all the Monaco 24s had been and gone.... if you go for that ask for a big discount!

Wow, retirement at 55, impressive! Both the 80's edition and the Bamford are amazing IMO, can't go wrong!

Red for me, Bamford probably not unless it was much better in the flesh, retired first@42 but had several jobs since then, boredom plus luxury money, now 61 I’m 8 months into another try, and, applied for another job on Wednesday!
Wife just shook her head and left the room.

I don't think I'll ever be able to retire. But at least owning a Monaco is an achievable goal!

A working man with a Monaco on the wrist is guaranteed to be happier than a retired man with no Monaco 😜

The journey to the store involved a short internal flight and a long taxi ride! Just heading to the boutique now.

Last time I was there, about a month ago, they had one or two 24's, but I'm not exactly sure which models they were. I'll let you know in a couple of hours.

23 years in a good final salary pension, and contracting since then are the only reason I can hopefully pull it off! I may well end up taking on a short 3 month or so contract every now and again to pay for the toys, and my renewed interest in watches!
