When someone asks me about the 'Mercedes' hands (80% of my watches) I give them the theory of the luminous paint that does not require too much span to fill the hand. At least in the past. Or is this nonsense now?

To my knowledge this might have been true back in the tritium days, but hasn鈥檛 been anymore for quite a while.
