Hi guys.
Let me get your opinions on this two. Which one will you choose:

1. Longines Legendary Diver
A very attractive diver watch from the owner of oldest registrated logo. I like the idea of the rotating inner flange marker for diving. Also the shape of the hour hand.

2. Montblanc slim chronometrie
The movement used for this watch was said to be the similar to Blancpain classic. But the brand is more well known for selling writing instruments than watch. Slim. Pristine. No-date classic. The selection that can go no wrong with your suit.

Lets hear it !

Definately Longines for me. That one works both as a sporty watch and also more elegant dressier piece.

The Montblanc is a bit too simple in my eyes... I like the design of the Longines a lot better.

When it comes to brand and history I prefer Longines aswell 馃憤

The Montblanc looks more classy and traditional to me, plus it has no date to spoil the look (good). The Longines is a nice watch, but the shape of the hour hand is a turn off for me rather than an attractive feature, and to me it's trying a little too hard on the vintage styling.

P.S. If you like the Montblanc, I recommend you check out Vulcain

Not especially. It's slightly too large for me at 42mm, but I do like the look of it. The blue dial is the special one in the collection imo, but they do silver and black as well. Vulcain is a brand with a lot of history - they invented the alarm complication (named the cricket calibre) and were worn by US presidents and explorers. Check out some online reviews for more (although most feature the alarm model).

That's enriching. Thanks for the interesting story. 馃憤

Diver vs. dress? Doesn't work.
I'd go for the Longines. They released the exact same watch a couple of years back without the date by the way.

Functionality its polar opposite. But most of the time our decision needs to sacrifice one for another 馃槈

It could look better without the date, i am sure !

Let's see, where do we start.
Saving the Carrera; I am on the lookout for a 1887, in blue, or, Fuji Speedway, or, black v2. In that order.
Not all of them as it might cost me a divorce, but at least one.

Failure to do so, I will be willing to consider a titanium mutant Carrera or the recently launched blue version @43mm.

Disclaimer: I don't own a TAG yet, but I spend waaay to much time looking at them online and on this site (amazing by the way). I too really want an 1887 and have been saving up. I love the story behind the first in house movement. I went to my local authorized dealer this weekend and the last told me the 1887 was being discontinued and they would no longer sell it. I hadn't heard this. Any truth to that rumor?? Thanks

Welcome.
1887 is definitely one of the classiest Tag Heuer. While Heuer01 is more of an avant garde.
I never own a 1887 but if i could turn back time i would definitely like to own one, the one without numerals but markers. White dial. I attached the picture (not my picture). Not that i cant find one now. But more like i used up all the budget for something else and still long list of wants. Or the spaceX one is very special but it will be harder to get. I would probably go for spaceX if i could find one in steel and re-arrange the budget.

You can still find that watch, not the v2, but the standard with tachymeter scale at retailer, brand new.
Plenty of used ones on the bay.

There is a NOS SpaceX at the local dealer here, with a bracelet. It has a couple of marks from showroom trials.
I can check it for you if you want.
