I missed one of these at an online auction shortly. It went for about $170.
I like them, they are very present in the movie 'Senna'.
Formula 1 resin prices are bizarre... you will see these for low prices and equally for 拢400. Then you have multiple knackered bezel F1s on eBay for 拢250... sub 拢200 is good for anything really, but about a year ago I missed one in good condition with a red strap that went for 拢99! Now that was a bargain.
Yeah, I mean they're not haute horlogerie by any means, but they are fun things and inexpensive. Just wish they were a little bit bigger, but there we are... I don't own any Swatches, but I do think they are kinda cool - except when people buy them as investments and never take them out of the packets... 馃憥
A friend of mine took me into a Swatch boutique last year, I must admit there were some cool things, I think there was a rotor that goes around the edge, but I can't remember if it was on the back or around the dial?
I love my swatch.
Nice and cheap, comfortable and a bit different.
Easy to read also.
But yellow isn't everyone's cup of tea.
It's just my favourite colour.
If it was just the crystal, bezel and strap I might have put in a bid, but the dial lume was rather discoloured and I didn't fancy replacing that. You can get nicer examples, but I'm not paying 拢400 for one!
Ah well, that's the choice to be made I'm afraid. I'm tending towards the 拢200 end, mildly worn bezels etc... but yes, mint ones tend to go for 拢3-400. There's a lot of chancers trying to sell one with really trashed bezels for 拢250 though.
Talking of plastic watches 馃槈, just ordered one of these for my daughter:
My daughter owns a flikflak and a swatch. After a season on the beach the flikflaks turning bezel didn't move any more. Well it might have catched one or two grains of sand. 馃槣 It was repaired or probably completely exchanged because it was still in the 2 year guarantee! Not bad for a 50$ watch if you ask me. As I am writing I wonder if I should get one of those plastic F1 ladies watches for her.
I like the BIG BOLD JELLYs @Anothony.
They are ironic and fresh!
