I almost bought the Longines in January. But I decided to wait since the TAG Heuer line up for 2020 seemed very promising. I was keen on the Autavia bronze... and then came the announcement of the Carrera 160th anniversary 🙄...
That very same longines ? The heritage 1938 ?

Yes exactly. It appealed to me very much since it's so similar to the pocketwatch I inherited from my grandfather.

Wow, very cool.

Hope you got it sooner than later.

Hands down - The Carrera; no contest.

I would also go Carrera. There are so many Speedmaster editions, I've lost track of them all. I also think tri-compax Heuer 02 beats the bi-compax in this instance. And the Carrera is just cooler.

oh I’ll be getting both in good time. The choice is simply down the sequencing. TH are due some love if it lives up to expectation.

I expect the “of the moon” range to be updated soon as they are not “METAS” - and at least in 2019, pre Covid Omega stated that their entire range would be Metas by Late 2021/2. I collect Speedies and Carrera with comparatively equal zeel. More so the ceramic ones - just personal preference. Not that fussed about the Moon mission LEs. Not my thing. I just like the design. There’snfeck all on the noon anyway so I doubt::rimshot:: I’ll ever visit

If I buy another TAG Heuer in 2020, these are my current top 3. All roughly in same price range. I know most will go for the Carrera, but for me the choice isn't so clear.

It's clean beautiful design. But I think a little too thick for my tastes and sometimes I think it's kinda boring. A part of me wants to hold out for a panda.

I just love the Monaco. This watch speaks to me, but I have too many Monaco's and I'm also hoping for a new H02 Monaco Gulf.

I think this design is super cool! But somehow paying $6K USD for an F1 doesn't sit well with me. Now I love the F1 (own 3 of them), just not at this price. I'd be all in if it had been branded a "Fragment Heuer Autavia".

All 3 are nice. I’d go for them in that precise order (personal taste). The red and silver Monaco is stunning. And I do like the stark almost minimalist look of the f1. I’d not buy that one on principle though. Due to the silly logo ruining the dial.

This one just moved on up to pole position. Word is.... no word.

The 160 Carrera not looking likely this month. I’ll find out for sure on Monday.

But as they’re making a large quantity I’m not too fussed on missing out on day 1. Got the chance to get this one for a steal. So TH will have to wait another month or two. Understandably supply chains may be constrained at the moment. But an email to ADs 10 days before deadline is hardly rocket science to orchestrate.

Still intrigued by the new green Aquaracer

And the carbon dial F1

And I keep looking on eBay for something older, but I'm not really coming up with much.

Most likely this, if I can get hold of one

I just got an email about this from Beaverbrooks so it shouldn't be overly difficult!

What did these emails say? I have tried two ADs - one wanted full payment in advance in order to be tenth on their list with no idea of when it might arrive (I declined). The other was where I got my original BB58 from and I am currently 5th on their list, no money down. The two they had in stock have already gone.
