I got asked my first "is that rolex?" Question today by my co worker.

That was fast. Only on the 2nd day. ::facepalm1::

Hahaha. Still love this one though.
Ouch, what an insult 🙁

Naaahhhh, it's really fine. I like this watch than the Rolex pepsi model to be honest. The bezel shape, etc.

One thing i really think of the rolex is their bi-directional bezel instead of uni-directional. But each to their own advantages i guess.

Nice shots !

Permission to keep your lume shot for future reference 😀
👍

The Aquaracer bezel is bi directional though. Or is it the Rolex that is uni?

My aquaracer can only be turn in one direction.

I think rolex can be turn both direction.

I’m not aware of GMTs that aren’t bi-directional, any brand. It defeats their unique movement and practicality.

I’d get yours checked out if it isn’t moving in both directions - it might be stuck?

I double checked the official tag heuer website and yes, it is said UNIdirectional.

So either i am confused if mine is the right one or the others are loose ?

@Calibre11 or @Hubert can you help to shed some lights into this ?

That to me is a bit strange considering it’s intended GMT purpose but it might be (to save cost) Tag have simply used the regular Aquaracer divers bezel and case with a new bezel insert, colours and movement.

I've read somewhere that the bezel is unidirectional for the purpose of when you dive you dont accidently turn it which have bigger chance if you are bidirectional

Dont ask me where did i read that, i can't seems to find it now.

But i agree with you, GMT should be bidirectional.

Anyway i confirm again with the sales executive from the boutique and they told me it was unidirectional, as according to the website.

I guess i am gonna stick with my unidirectional for now.

For dive watches they all are uni directional so that if they get knocked on a dive and rotate, it only decreases dive time rather than (dangerously) add dive time. Ie: displaying more dive (air) time than is actually in the tank.

Obviously it has old usage (diving now is with a computer and a mechanical dive watch as back up) but the designs remain the same. Love a bit of heritage these brands! I imagine the most activity most dive watches get nowadays is desk diving.

GMTs aren’t (weren’t) originally dive watches so don’t conform to the needs of the uni directional safety feature. My Aquaracer 500 GMT is bi-directional allowing time to be adjusted one way or the other depending on direction of time zones flown. Strangely it’s a dive watch with 500m and GMT but obviously a mix of watch categories.

Obviously you can simply rotate the GMT bezel around again if it’s uni directional, but again, heritage design and that wouldnt be the point...

We got thread like this under "wishlist" but i will reply this nevertheless, maybe the admin will decide to merge it down later.

I am gonna skip "choose the one that speaks to you" pep talk and give you what i would choose.

It's not between those 2 so it won't help much.

But seriously, between 2 of your choice, the blue might have the edge for me.

I would choose this personally (attached), the reason is that i dont really like white dial with gold Arabic numeral (although i happen to own one) or blue dial with white Arabic numeral. I've seen the one that i attached in metal before. What a fine fine watch ! If only i don't have too many Carrera...

^ Moved posts under Wishlist thread.

Of the two that you provided, I would go with the blue.

However, I would suggest checking out the new Calibre 16, as well.

This new calibre 16, but black dial would also be my choice.

Both are the same reliable Calibre 16 movement but it will really depend on what occasion you will wear them. For a more office to formal look, get the one below. For a more office to sports casual look, i’ll go the one on top.

Had the same dillemma before, so i got both Both of them thoroughly speaks to me I call them my Twin Carreras ✌ HTH

You guys are making me want an Aquaracer GMT, but I've just bought an old F1 chrono, so it will have to wait.

Spend a bit of time in my local emporium today and very nearly pulled the trigger on one of these. In the end it did not get the heartbeat going enough to engage the bank card. Anyone have one? Any thoughts?
