I picked the new Seamaster 300 on Saturday.
Congrats @Hubert! Lovely looking watch. I've been thinking about getting the blue.

Compared to your Spectre, is it the exact same size? I haven't compared the specs, but the look is very similar. Although I do like the sandwich dial on this one. Would love to see a side by side shot.

Congrats Hubert! I really really like this Omiiiiga

Does this mean you opted for the Omega over the rose bling lord?

Thanks Jim!

I still have my deposit for the other one, but I am waiting for actual pics to decide.

The blue is lovely as well. I was undecided, until I saw both of them side-by-side in the metal. The black won for me, as it is more faithful to the original.

I'll add the need to take those pics to my To-Do-List.

Looking forward to the pics.

I looked up the specs, the Spectre is 41mm, 15mm thickness & 48mm lug to lug. The new 300 is 42mm, 13.7mm thickness, & almost 50mm lug to lug. So I'm also curious to know your impressions on how they feel and wear on your wrist.

Managed to find myself at Bluewater earlier with a few hours by myself, so natural I navigated to the watch shops.

Managed to spend some time at Tag (part of Beaverbrooks) whilst also at Omega, M&W to look at some Rolex and also Chisholm Hunters for Nomos.

After being torn between the Monaco & Speedy for a while, with the Monaco being more in the forefront, today it felt a bit flat, fit was great, still think stunning looking, but something not speaking to me today (maybe the fact covered in the protective wrapping so couldn't use and the plain strap). The 200m Aquaracer Professional still sings to me, apart from 'that bracelet' PCL & no micro is a no for me. The 300m Aquaracer is lovely, & I even enjoy the internal cyclops. Only downside is the size, borderline on L2L for me (oh I wish is was 41/40 mm).

Quick stop to CH to look at Nomos

S8Jfq2F.jpg realised 36mm to small for me and the long lugs create a case to strap gap that is huuuuuuge, 38mm better but still a gap, enough to bug me, shame as I brand I really want to like & own.

Goldsmiths next to enquiry about the Tudor fabric strap for my BB58, also looked at Oris, come away feeling meh, quality just didn't feel there.

Omega next and the Speedy, finally a chance to use one without the protective wrapping, my oh my, came away feeling this is now the front runner. Only downside 50m WR (+25% extra according to RJB on Fratello) enough for bath time with the little one and occasional swimming - I don't know, also doesn't look as cool as the Monaco (but did feel a bit more premium).

Lastly M&W and this was only to see how a 36mm OP felt, not much a fan of the games Rolex play, but more curious on how the wear, must admit 36mm OP much nicer fit than the Nomos Club 36mm (damn that oyster case), black OP nice, sales assistant then mentioned the Explorer 1 also - now I must add one watch I could never see the fuss about, not a fan of the partial numerals (missing 12 bugs me), but I was blown away by it, size, fit, looks, pictures make it appear smaller but on wrist very nice. Now this has become a 3 horse race, with 2 slowly pulling away from 1.

Now my local AD has both the Monaco and Speedy and Aquaracer 200m in for me to spend some time with next week, will make a difference having them all in the same place to view.

Update I managed to spend time with both at local AD (who for once were helpful and not abrasive). Both working models and no protective wrapping. Was with them for roughly an hr, they have a newish guy in store who seems to be a keen watch fan.

Poor pictures this time, but have all pretty much made my mind up.

Made a difference having the Monaco working & strap adjusted correctly, the Speedy this time didn't feel as good, but I can see the appeal (it ticks all the boxes and if head ruled it would be the one) and I think maybe one I'd like to pick up in a few years (40th in a few).

But that Monaco has a certain pull and is the current front runner. Just having an extension which is taking longer than planned, but some hopeful celebratory news near Christmas.

Looks good. That Monaco is just so right.

Have been looking for a Vintage Autavia Orange Boy for some time. I may have found it. Fingers crossed it checks out. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking on Longines, I swear the new Ultra-Chron made my heart go jump a bit. 5Hz, 50+ hr reserve, vintage diver vibes and a 48mm length. They keep stepping up their game.

You should also post these over on the corresponding thread in the vintage sub-forum!

Been trying to buy something really cool, but getting no response from the seller... it's making me look around now, and of course I'm in that difficult position where I could spend £2000 now, or I could wait and spend £3000...

Saw the Longines today in the window of their brand boutique in GVA. Underwhelmed, unfortunately…

Actually, the absence of vintage vibe 😉 The watch just appeared chunky, the case uninspired, the dial not very interesting… Just my personal opinion, obviously.

Going to my AD later today, also a Longines dealer. Hopefully they have it in stock to try. Hopefully the Tudor explorer II also 🙄
