Been on the Wait List for 6 Months with no sign of getting this piece. So imagine my excitement when I found a BNIB being sold.
So happy.
Congrats Anthony! Like they say, good things come to those who... ::rimshot::

What's your impressions vs. the Omega Speedy and Breitling Premier? You're up to your eyeballs in pandas now. 馃槣

Thank you Michael.
I think the Universe aligned for me on this one.
The guy I brought it from only purchased it from the AD in order to buy a Rolex DJ. They made him buy the Tudor first and then 4 months later they contacted him about the DJ.
Luckily he never wore it and never had it resized.

It was way to big for his wrist and looked ridiculous. But I guess that's what you have to do to get a Rolex these days.

I didn't get much time with the Tudor last night apart from removing the links and resizing it. Will spend some time today having a good look and report back to you.

Funny you mention about the Tudors sitting in drawers.
The guy I purchased from said he went in for the DJ and was offered the Tudor.
I've been and still am on the list at the same AD for Months with no contact. Apparently they have heaps of these Chronos sitting out the back.

As soon as we come out of Lockdown I'm going in to that Very AD to ask what's happening with my list progress.

And I will have my Chrono within arms reach to show them once they spin some crap to me.

I think it is brilliant. Imagine having a business where your customers are so stupid that they buy crap they don't want, just to be allowed to purchase your product that they actually want! One can only dream about creating a business model like that 馃憤

Rolex really are a bunch of w4nkers!

Just for a laugh, I went into a Rolex dealer about 2-3 years ago to take a look at a steel Skydweller. Notwithstanding the fact that they didn't have one, nor much of anything else, the sales assistant used language like, "If you would like to receive the watch.....". (Imagine this spoken in a fairly soft yet entirely condescending tone). I want to buy a watch not be bestowed some royal blessing. I wanted to punch the guy in the mouth.

It's a seiko MODS (modification). The base movement is seiko NH35. The rest of the parts including the warranty card is third party. So much to choose nowadays. But there are limitation. For example, the part of Breguet hands can only fit in ETA based movement or similar.

If this suprise you, i think you will like what they did with Seiko Fifthy Fathom Mods or Seiko Royal Oak Mods. It's mind blowing.

So a nicer way of saying it's a knock off? Where's the dial?

I've chosen the faceless dial. There are tons of dial to choose out there.

Is it knock off ? It's definitely a homage, but for sure it's not a replica or a fake. Most of people opt for homage model but in the dial it is always branded Seiko, or dial producer brand and not other brand that it is not.

I chosen faceless dial just to have fun. But i always mentioned upfront it is Seiko, not Rolex of anything like that. Probably non watch people might see it as Rolex, but if they ask I'll make sure I inform them the right one.

Here is another example. ( Watch not mine )

I see.

But these aren't true OEM Seiko dials or OEM Seiko watches (other than the movement), right? If not OEM, branding the dial Seiko is still a knock off to me.

Mods, Tribute or Homage sounds better than fake. But seems like affordable fun. 馃槈

Oh yeah, i never really think of it like that. I guess if branding the dial Seiko, then it can be consider or at least arguably as knock off. 馃槵

This is my first seiko mods and i always have the faceless dial in mind, never other dial. So I haven't consider it from that perspective 馃榿

Oh well. I tried to mods gshock as well but they said the parts use for the mods might also use for counter fitted gshock. So it gets me thinking over 馃え.
