Anyone considering one of the new El Primeros that have received the Biver treatment?

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/zenith-chronomaster-el-primero-full-open-38-00-watch-review/

I'm afraid not. Open worked dials just don't do it for me and I find them illegible. Only Breitling, with its Navitimer, comes close to the same level of illegibility with a conventional dial but then they do insist on putting several rows(??) of text around the outside of the dial/bezel.

Case in point:

I'm with both of you. I'd rather have a classic EL Primero too.

Will be interesting to see though if he manages to "Biverize" Zenith into profit aswell. It seems to do the trick on all other brands...

I'm sure he will. They've been in the news all the time after JCB started their restructuring. I have to imagine this has translated into a strong increase in sales.

So I took another trip to the boutique today given I had a spare 30mins at work. Wanted to try on the Autavia for size again, since I wasn't entirely convinced I could get away with it. Tried it on the strap this time and it wore slightly better, although I still think it's a bit tall and blingy.

Whilst there, I also took the opportunity to try the Monza. I was thinking it'd be way too big for me, but actually it's a lot flatter than the Autavia and I think works better.

Thoughts between these two? Of course I'd prefer both to be a bit smaller, but can i get away with either of these do you think? Pictures below...

My vote is with the Monza. Like you say, its more slim which is obvious from your photos.

I have never experienced the two irl so only judging from your photos...

I have the Monza and will be picking up the Autavia very soon and if I had to choose between the two, I would probably go with the Autavia. I love my Monza for it wears very well but I think the Autavia is nicely put together (except for the aluminium bezel 😡) and for the money, the Autavia is more bang for the $.

Yes the Autavia is a bit thick and bulky and from some of the comments here lately, you either love it or dispraise it but to each their own. Buy whatever makes you happy for it's your wrist and $ no one else's 😀

I like both but can only realistically afford one. My wife seems to prefer the Autavia as well. More confused than ever.

I love the monza. Love it so much that my avatar is monza.

I had the chance to tried Autavia but not yet convinced enough to pull the trigger.

However seeing the Autavia in your hand, i think it suited you rather well.

Hope you came out with the choice you like the most in the end.

Both look good on your wrist.
Both will require a custom strap for a better fit and feel.

Monza is more sporty and scratch magnet.

Over the years there have been a few threads similar to this ^ question; I had one too.

So I put together this generic thread at the request of various members; most recently @OttoWilliam

I'll start; my "next" TAG Heuer will either be the Jack Heuer 85th Birthday Auatavia

or
the 2017 Monaco Gulf.

If they release a larger Connected around November that is more aesthetically pleasing than the 45mm, then I might consider that too.
Both of them are really cool, but I'm not really a fan of the reversed panda dial TH did this time.

With that said, you want a larger Connected? That thing is huge already!😉

I am hoping that if they eliminate the fixed bezel, the screen diameter will increase, while retaining the overall proportions.

Many 3rd party watch faces come with a bezel, thus causing a double bezel effect. This can be very annoying.
