What are the experts thoughts on this Carrera? Seems a little to "clean" for a Circa70's Carrera

Looks pretty good to me. Case could have been re-brushed if that's what you mean by "clean", but then the edges look reasonably sharp to me.

That's a ref. 1153, not a 73653. The movement looks to be too early for some of the other details - either the hands have been replaced, or the movement has. Do you happen to know the serial number?

That's my thought too- would expect this to be a Calibre 12...and yes, its a 1153. The 73653 is a three-register chronograph with the crown on the right-hand side of the case

Hi all, I think it does have a couple of question marks over 'originality'-here is mine, ironically posted today on OTD 😀

It a shares a lot of traits but this is an early example-147xxx but also seems to have the 2nd exec. hands.(mine has a cal. 12 but was likely cal. 11 originally.) From what I've seen there was a crossover in hands used which confuses things. The one your posted @Tbone has a s/n of 29xxxx which does point to a later example. In summary-dial, movement and bezel point to an earlier example, hands mid range and s/n later. (but not LateST.) I've seen a lot worse though so don't think these sort of changes are too uncommon.

This piece in particular @Tbone has been around since a long time ago, at a price far far away.....and still seems to be.
